Leeds United vs Huddersfield Saturday 16th March 2013 Elland Road 12:30 Kick Off Leeds United View attachment 22240 Leeds' play off push appeared to take a turn for the worst against Peterborough at Elland Road with a disappointing 1-1 draw. Their play off wishes still remain faintly alive should they get 3 points today, but anything less, and even the most optimistic of Leeds fans will be planning for next year. They look to be finishing the Season strong, and have a good base to improve upon next Season. Their is always danger in this Leeds side, with players like Diouf and Morison always looking to bag a goal or two. Morison is however an injury doubt due to the injury which Morison sustained in the last match at Elland Road. Huddersfield Lying on the boundary between safety and a relegation dogfight, Leeds' West Yorkshire rivals will be looking to guarentee themselves a place in the Championship next Season. A good start to the Season, seeing Huddersfield rise to 6th in the League saw them as possible back-to-back promotion contenders but a not-so-good 2nd half to the Season has seen them slip worryingly close to the relegation zone. 2 wins in their last 7 matches against Burnley and Middlesbrough proves that Huddersfield shouldn't be taken lightly. Form doesn't matter in Yorkshire derbies though, and this should be a cracker. Interesting Facts - Leeds have not experienced same season home and away league victories over their West Yorkshire neighbours for 74 years, since the 1938/39 top-flight campaign. - The Terriers are four goals shy of 100 in competitive games against Leeds. - Leeds go into their 47th match of the season - more than any other Championship club - unbeaten in six, and in search of a fifth win in 15 league games since Christmas, and a 12th of the season at Elland Road. - The Terriers have shipped twice as many away league goals than at home; 21 at the John Smith's Stadium, 42 on their travels (10 of which being conceded in the last three trips). Nice thread thanks Candy There seems a distinct lack of activity around here at the moment, nobody questioned where the match thread was, not much in the way of posting, a sign of how we are all starting to feel another season has brushed us over, I was going to repeat myself and say roll on next season but looking at GFH comments on expenditure it looks like being more of the same.
Habibou starts - Now we get to see how poor he is... Bet he scores now I have said that and we sign him What better game than this to have recalled Poleon and give him a start. Makes me laugh we have Poleon out on loan and a 19 year old Sam Byram who has stepped up to the plate and become a permanent fixture yet we have a 25 year old Ryan Hall who Warnock describes as one for the future???
Leeds: Kenny, Byram, Peltier, Lees, Warnock, Green, Tonge, Austin, Varney, Diouf, Habibou. Subs: Ashdown, Pearce, White, Brown, Norris, Dawson. Habibou has played all of what, 10 minutes now expected to last 90 alongside an ageing Diouf - Hope we don't need a goal in the last 20 minutes as this could be a disaster.
Just realised I should have left for the match ages ago! Hope this helps .... http://www.ustream.tv/channel/reecelufc125
I'm floating about too guys. See you're NI James, me too. Half time 0-0, bit concerned about yellows - sounds like the sort of derby that might be hard to win with 10. Let's hope we don't find out, eh?
0-0 at half time, anyone got an update on how things are going, doesn't seem to have been very exciting, how has Habibou done so far?
