Leeds remain without the services of Patrick Bamford, Kalvin Phillips, Liam Cooper and now, Diego Llorente! The Spanish International defender missed the trip to Anfield with a hamstring injury. In his absence, Bielsa switched Ayling to centre back alongside Struijk and rotated Dallas to right back. Although we don't know the extent of Llorente's injury, it is highly unlikely that he will be involved on Saturday. Leeds expect Robin Koch to be passed fit for the weekend, and is likely to partner Struijk in central defence, allowing Ayling to occupy his regular right wing back role. Tyler Roberts, Jamie Shackleton and Joe Gelhardt all received game time at Anfield but failed to make much of an impression against a Liverpool side that looked like they were in a completely different league. All three however, are the most likely to feature should Bielsa make any unforced changes. Spurs may be without the services of Uruguayan International Midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur. The €19 m January signing suffering an awkward fall at Turf Moor midweek. Pierluigi Gollini is also a doubt due to illness, while Oliver Skipp (groin) and Japhet Tanganga (knee) are struggling to be fit for the weekend. Lucas Moura and Sergio Reguilon may return to the starting line up following a poor performance against Burnley.
**** Sigh **** I live in hope, I’m guessing it will be short lived, they lost to Burnley, I can’t see them losing two on the bounce to relegation threatened teams
I haven't been commenting much on here, I haven't even been reading it much, because it's depressing. It's depressing enough watching the team get humped without reading how **** you think most of the players and the manager are. I've read comments challenging anyone who still supports Bielsa to comment. I do but I haven't because I know what you're going to say. That being said, I think we're doomed. I don't think we have the personnel available to us to get us out of our spiral. The injuries throughout the season have crippled us but the biggest problem is that the teams we are playing are good enough to beat us. What I mean is that other managers know how to beat us but it needs an immense effort and a lot of discipline. Yesterday Liverpool set up to ruin us and had the quality players to punish us. Allison played as a deep sweeper to nullify the pace of our wingers. The back 2 sat on the half way line then they pincered our defenders as they played it across the back and picked up every spare man. Usually it meant one of the defenders or Meslier played it to the wings where, if Harrison could control it, we got a break, if he didn't it went out or came straight back. Liverpool never got out of 2nd gear doing it. Lesser teams will have to work much harder or take more of their chances. We just don't have the players to do anything else. I just hope that when we play the teams around us they can't do what the better teams can. I hope we get Cooper back to sort out the defence, Philips to give us the quality in Midfield and Bamford because he definitely gives us something different. We're going to lose to Spurs because we've had two energy sapping games this week so the players will be fkd. I will avoid the match day thread. So, yes I support Bielsa but no, I don't live in Disneyland. It will be a crying fkn shame if the PL lose the most entertaining team in it.
Spurs played midweek too. I don’t see that they have an advantage. I always had this down as a game we could win… we were the better side for much of the game at their place… they picked up a fair few points they didn’t deserve under conte when he took over and are now bang out of form despite the smash and grab at city. This is a winnable game and the fans need to get behind the team, because if we’re going to stay up we need to actually win the winnable games
Both teams not playing well, Both managers under question, Both owners under question, It's down to who turns up and puts in a bit of quality on the day.
Forgot to add that, as spurs have blown the top 4, do they really want Thursday football in the conference europe league or whatever its called? Probably more fun for the away day fans than the club ( no money) or the prima donna players.
5th qualifies for Europa League, which isn't a bad backup route into the following seasons Champions League IF they can actually win it!!
We can do the yids tomorrow I'm not nervous about this one. After capitulation came humiliation and derision. Tomorrow is another day and we get to play first. Make a statement and give the others something to think about. Put the pressure on them and see what happens.
The old chestnut we have to start winning our home games simple as that. every point could be crucial as our Goal Difference will not keep us up. We need some confidence because we are in the relegation fight now. We need to keep this in our own hands we can't rely on teams to keep losing each week just to keep our head above water. This is about us now and we need to find something because in this current form we are going down.
Never been a fan of lunchtime kick offs as generally the atmosphere isn't quite the same. Can't see that tomorrow though as every Leeds fan knows we're in trouble and will be doing their utmost to get behind the lads. Just hope we get a fair crack of the whip and please please please do not let one of their defenders score from 6 yards out with a free header.
Yep it's bloody annoying and it's difficult to understand why we haven't switched to a combination of zonal and man marking like we used to do with Pontus. Guess that was mainly pre Bielsa though. All teams concede from corners just not the same bloody goal week after week.
