A very good Morning from a Sunny Southampton. Nigel Atkins takes his red and white army on the long trek to West Yorkshire with a place in the quarter finals at stake. Southampton have had a poor start to the season, having taken just four points all season, lying second to last in the table. Leeds on the other hand have had to endure lacklastre performances over the last three or four games, especially at Elland Road. Who is going to care more about the result. Surely Southamptons main aim would be to stay in he Prem, whilst Leeds should certainly be worrying about the play offs...
For Southampton, it's an opportunity to try & get some positive momentum in a competition they could do well in. That said, they may want to rest a few players for their next PL fixture. For Leeds, same story. We really need to start playing on the floor a lot more, rather than hoofing it up to Becchio. I hear Hall can't play, which is a pity & Poleon is still out on loan, which is also a pity. I would have been tempted to rest Lees & play Kisnorbo, but he played in a development match on Monday. So no chance of him playing tonight unless we get an injury. I think we may struggle in what will probably be a fairly low crowd. Hope I'm wrong on both counts. Does there have to be a result tonight, or can it go to a replay? Morning by the way.
Morning elland, boggers Hoping that regardless of the result tonight, the boys step up their performance as they did against Everton. Then hopefully thatll kick start some more momentum and better performances
Morning LiD. Something has to change. As a club, we can't keep relying on being able to bring in more players, Warnock's got to get more out of the players we've got & get them to play a bit more footy rather than hoofball. I just want to see us playing with a lot more width, putting crosses into the 6 yard box or on the penalty spot for forwards/the midfield to latch onto.
Morning Everyone, Steve, where you been??? Boggers, it will be nice to see Becchio getting some distribution. Warnock said after Saturdays match that Hall is returning to fitness, and he would play an under 21 game this week and hopefully be ready for the weekend. Be nice if Warnock and give him 30 minutes tonight
Morning all, would like to see the following line-up tonight: Ashdown Byram Peltier Pearce White Norris Brown Pugh Varney Becchio Diouf Rest Austin and Lees for Friday, shame Hall's not eligible so give Varney another chance, Byram and White as pacey, overlapping fullbacks. 2-1 Leeds
Fair point Elland, but as I and others have mentioned, Hall isn't available tonight - cuptied. That said, I hope he starts on Friday against Brighton. Good call Towie.... er sorry Essex.
For a league cup match, swapping Kenny for Ashdown would be interesting. If he can manage two games so close to each other, I would tempt to rest Pearce or Lees for Kisnorbo.
Haven't bothered with your board mate tbh, Jesus what's wrong with me Mostly stuck to our board which is deadly quiet at times , combination of work, family and other stuff so not been around as much mate Heard the other night from olof that WW III went off the other night with sheldon with that prick at Sheff Wed and I missed it
I'd be more tempted to play: ----------------------------Ashdown-------------------------- Byram----------Lees-----------Pearce---------------Drury Green---------Norris-----------Brown---------------White -------------------Diouf------------Gray--------------------- I like the idea of Ashdown being our cup goalie. I want that defence to continue though (although Drury hasn't been in it), despite us conceding I still think its quite strong and the more they can play together the better. Get Green and Norris back into things and give Austin a rest, way too much expectation is starting to mount on Rudy. Becchio desperately needs a rest I feel, looks tired and is playing very poorly, not only that we need to see what options we have when Becchio is playing ****e or if he gets injured. We need to play more to our attacking strengths which isn't long ball. Becchio can't deal with it as thats not his style of play, get people out wide whipping crosses into him, hes far better attacking the ball in the penalty area. I hear McCormack is a couple weeks off returning, we have missed him more than we'd care to admit I think
Morning all a little link for your perusal http://www.sport360.com/article/gfh-capital-leeds-united-talks-nearing-conclusion
It'll never happen Afternoon strach Has the missus finally got used to visiting **** hole grounds in the third or is she still ****ed off about it?
Austin and Becchio need resting. What about Diouf? Ashdown needs to play. Would like to see Drury back in.
