A lot of personal pride will be at stake as Redfearn makes his second trip back to Elland Road this season, looking to add to Rotherhams 1-0 win against Leeds mid November. Evans on the other hand, as you can imagine will be looking to make amends. Leeds have only reached the fourth round only once in the last five seasons, while the Millers have reached it once since January 1993, losing eight third round ties in that time. Alex Mowatt is fit again after injury. A local derby might be the ideal time to throw him back in the mix. Should Evans mix the team up, or stick with the same starting XI that are gradually creeping up the table? New signing Mustapha Carayol (winger) could make his debut after joining on loan from Middlesbrough, though where does that leave Botaka? Bridcutt has signed on loan to the end of the season, but should he be rested for league action? Does anyone think that Coyle deserves a run out? What about Sloth, Doukara or even Erwin? Frecklington and defender Rawson (both hamstring) are out for the Millers, while fellow defender Richard Wood is Cup-tied. Loanees Grant Ward and Shay Facey have been given permission to play.
Gawd knows what the team will be. Can't risk injuring Byram, Bianchi, Sloth or Antenucci if we're trying to sell them. Doubt if Wood or Mowatt will be risked as starters when they're coming back from injury. Not sure if double-barrel will get a start in goal. Think he might if we play a strong back 4 (come to think of it, we don't have any option but to play an experienced defence!). Having said that, it's an ideal opportunity to play Coyle from the start, and I don't think he'll disappoint. Same goes for Phillips. Dallas needs a rest & Carayol is an unknown quantity, so I think they'll share a berth between them. Same goes for Erwin/Doukara, but for a different reason - neither are thought of as an ideal deputy for Wood up front on their own. .................. Peacock-Farrell Coyle ..... Bellusci ..... Bamba ..... Taylor ....................... Bridcutt Adayemi ... Murphy... Phillips ... Carayol ...................... Doukara Subs: Silvestri, Wootton, Cooper, Mowatt, Dallas, Erwin, Wood. TYour guess is as good as mine!
Looks like Redfearn is on the last shake of the dice. He's brought in free agent Alex Cairns, and released Aidy White who went to Barnsley, he also brought in a foreign player and maybe Becchio. Could blood and guts tie
Morning all. I think we should play a strongish team. It'll be nice to have a decent cup run. What would be resting players for? We're not going to be in the relegation dog fight and though I hope otherwise I doubt we'll get near the playoff places.
You could be right Ristac. If this new guy is as good as he appears, with 2 up front, we could win by 3 or 4. But time will tell
