Leeds never get the rub of the green!!! Tonight has made up for every dodgy referee this season, every time we hit the woodwork and every opposition player who throws themselves to the ground to gain an advantage....
And emu, Firpo was ****. He isn't effective when teams come at us, his best is when they park the bus. Kamara was disappointing tonight, he was 'get rid' passing. I think Ampadu was getting fed up with him so started bringing the ball out himself. Leicester were compressing the game because they've got a lot of quality in the middle.
I try not to read too much into one game and we’ve lost plenty of games where we were the better side, but in the second half (missed the first half) we got a chasing all over the pitch. Gray got fleeced, firpo was rinsed, Rodon got caught out numerous times and we were swamped in midfield. A side with some prem quality and a bit of athleticism and aggressive press completely knocked us out of our stride and our attacking talent was pretty much nullified by a well organised physical defence. It’s just one game… I thought we were better than them at their place… but it was a little reminder of what life in the prem might be like.. and who might be ready for it.
What a fantastic turn around. Really didn't think we had it in us but huge credit due to this team.
Thought tactically Leicester were brilliant. They nullified Summerville, and what again this shows for me is how important Bamford is to how we play. Only when all the subs were on did we start making inroads through their defence. Luckily we did enough to get the 3 points. Shout out to Mes for his display tonight. Thought Rodon/Firpo/Piroe were poor throughout. Rutter and Summerville disappointing. Still we won and that’s the most important thing. Fantastic atmosphere at the end.
Anyone suggesting Meslier gets anything other than 10 out of 0 are deluded. He was immense and kept us in the game. Top performance
As you say just one game but the way we rode our luck for the most of the second half it does leave questions to be answered regarding where we actually are quality wise. Guess we'll find out more down at The Bridge on Wednesday.
