The Toffees face two friendlies in as many days this weekend as they go toe to toe with Leeds United at Elland Road on Saturday and La Liga giants Villarreal on Merseyside on Sunday. Leeds will, no doubt put in their strongest possible team, and hopefully will see 3m signing Chris Wood score a goal or two. It is possible, if paperwork can be done in time that new signing Stuart Dallas will be given some game time. It will be interesting to see the difference in talent between Bundesliga teams Eintracht Frankfurt / Hoffenheim and the blue side of Merseyside. We can't read too much into this match, btw. I've read that due to the closeness of Everton's ties, they're going to field 2 different teams - so we probably won't be facing their full 1st team.
Feck, talk about a tough crowd - lose to Bundesliga giants by the odd goal and we're hopeless, beat established Premier League opposition and it doesn't count 'cos they're not at full strength? As they say in Glasgow, geez a break pal. Go on the lads!
It's how we play & the number of chances we create/the style we play that counts, not the result. That said, I hope we win well to create confidence in the squad. Morning by the way
Leeds V Everton leeds have had some good luck against everton in last couple of years in cup games so i am going for 2-1 to leeds
Afternoon all, LUTV worth it this month anyway - we're looking OK, some good confident work in the final third from Doukara, Wood and Byram. Everton very classy though.
Ive had LUTV for a few seasons on and off and for the most part its rubbish value especially with so many games on sky. Might have rethink this season given we might have a half decent team at last
Again Doukara causing havoc in the final third - forced the backpass error and in the thick of the pinball in the box. Unlucky.
