please log in to view this image Leeds Utd V Blackburn Rovers Paddy Kenny and Ross McCormack will face late fitness checks before their New Years day clash with Blackburn at Elland Road. A short back pass after just 30 seconds caused Kenny to collide with his ex team mate Greg Halford, and although Kenny remained on the pitch, Zeliukas took the majority of the goal kicks for the remainder of the match. McCormack was taken off shortly after scoring his 18th goal of the season as a precaution due to tight hamstrings. He later tweeted on having an early night as he had training in the morning. Mowatt is set to return having been rested for the last couple of games. This could have been the last that we see of Michael Brown? Thoughts? Byram is surely set to return to the starting line up, having been benched since early December. This will see an unlucky Peltier drop to the bench. Wooton is another player snapping at the door of a starting position; we could see Lees or Pearce rested. Ariyibi came on for the last 30 minutes or so. With his pace, McDermott may bring him on as an impact sub. Blackburn supremo Gary Bowyer has a number of injury worries with Todd Kane, Corry Evans, Paul Robinson and Dickson Etuhu ruled out with injury whilst Jason Lowe has picked us his fifth caution, and has to sit this one out. Josh King and David Dunn face late fitness checks. Surely, this is a must win for Leeds. We need our strongest XI.
--------------------Kenny---------------- Byram------Wooton------Pearce--------Pugh ------------------Zeliukas--------------------- ----------Murphy------Mowatt---------- McCormack------Smith------Poleon------- I would drop Pelts, Austin, Lees and Brown. I was temped to bring back Warnock, but Pugh gets forward really well, and has a great cross on him
How long has McCormack been in charge of subs? That's why not many have been made last few games, he's been preoccupied with trying to score
What I meant is McCormack is one of our best players, and the player most likely to score. There is a good chance that Ariyibi could deliver a scoring opportunity for him. Being a leading goalscorer brings responsibility and power. Indirectly McCormack would bring Ariyibi off the bench. Thats what I meant.
Nice try!! Happy New Year to you, others who make this site work and all contributors. Yeah, even the chaps from Nilwall and the New Dung!
Happy New Year to you, others who make this site work and all contributors. Yeah, even the chaps from Nilwall and the New Dung! [/QUOTE] Ell said Jonny. I I'll second your sentiments. Morning all by the way and hopefully the start of another unbeaten run begins today with some sort of a win. Sky report first this morning Chelsea May not sign anyone due to FTP rules. Ten minutes later they sign an 18 year old wonder kid. So as I suspected it will prove to be a nonsense. We've two weeks after today till our next meaningful game. Surely that will give the new owners time to finish the deal and McD time to get his new signings in. Personally I'd prefer if new recruits don't turn out to be division one lads that are ones for the future. We need proven pedigree this time around
I feel it is a must win for us today, after 4 points dropped at home in our previous two home games and a defeat last time out anything less than 3 points could see us slip to 9th. December was an average month, 18 points on offer we took 9 of them. Promotion form would have seen us take 12 and on paper January looks a very hard month with games against Leicester, Ipswich and Brighton coming at the back end of it.
Hi Ristac, you have done exactly what i did earlier and look at our Jan fixtures, tough month ahead of us!!
Not sure it makes much difference. We play the likes of Barnsley and some go mad predicting big wins, game over at half time etc. doesn't seem to be any pattern to who we perform well against
It is fooking pissing down. If we match our results from the first half of the season and gain only one extra point along the way we will be in the top six. We lost at Blackburn so anything is a bonus.
