No one knows how long Redfearn will be in, not even Redfearn, and probably not even Cellino. He seems to be doing a decent job though, so let's see if we can keep it going. An impressive 3-1 away win against Bournemouth midweek with a cracker of a free kick from Bellusci lifted the spirits around Leeds. After initially being up against it, a great second half performance sealed the victory. Huddersfield managed to pick up a point under new boss Chris Powell away at Wigan, though they need to improve and quickly to lift themselves out of the bottom three. There are plenty of previous meetings between the two sides, and Leeds fans will clearly remember the 5-1 victory last time they met at Elland Road. A repeat of that would certainly be welcome, though our Yorkshire visitors will be hoping to start some form of their own here. There's always a great atmosphere around this fixture though, and the Huddersfield players will know that they are on our turf, that's for sure! Leeds Wins 19 Draws 17 Huddersfield Wins 26

Leeds Form Huddersfield Form

W 1 - 3 Bournemouth Wigan 0 - 0 D Last Game

D 1 - 1 Birmingham Middlesbrough 2 - 1 L 5 - 1

W 1 - 0 Bolton Watford 4 - 2 L Leeds Win

L 2 - 1 Bradford Notts Forrest 0 - 2 L 01/02/14 - Elland Road

L 4 - 1 Watford Charlton 1 - 1 D

Team News Damned's Starting XI

Leeds Redfearn has his choice of the squad, and its widely expected that any changes from midweek will be minimal. Huddersfield will be low on confidence, but there's no reason to think they won't come at us in this Yorkshire Derby. It'd be great if our defence could manage a clean sheet though! I think we'll be largely unchanged, I've gone for Sloth over Austin, with Cook keeping his place. Back to normality. As ever a fine thread Dammed. Given that we're at hme and Redders seems to have a settled side playing some good stuff, I would expect us to win and win well. I'd also expect to see Aryan feature somewhere to add pressure to the midfield. Will be great if he does play some part and show why he could be such an asset. Will make competition in the midfield even greater than it is already. Will also be interesting to see if Ajose features somewhere to give us options and provide much needed width. Leeds to win 2-0 at a canter.
Racist Unless you meant Adryan of course. This is an exciting one, won't be there but will be glued to "happy" Eddie's commentary. If we win I will be starting to believe, as this squad can still gel together a lot more and some signings have not even played yet. We will also be close to a playoff place, I suspect. However I think we will have a tough one, as we seem to struggle to score against a determined defence, and get goals more on the break. I expect a typical derby/its our cup final game with Udders beinmg hard to break down, if we can do it - and I think we can - then we will be set up nicely
Great match thread as ever damned We have a lot of options for this game, will be interesting if Montenegro features as well I think. I don't think this game will be a walk in the park like some are suggesting.
I think the bench on Tuesday gave us a real indication of what Redfearn thinks of our striking options. To have Wotton, Bryam & Cooper on the bench left us unbalanced on the bench and no other striker. Does this mean Hunt, Morrison are out of the picture, strange not to see Ajose though, was he Hockadays choice and not as highly thought of. What do people think of Murphy's chance of getting back in. On the midfield I think Austin did enough to stay on, the energy pace and power that both he and doukara added puts the oppo on the back foot and allows us more space to play our passing game, I would drop Bianchi for Sloth/Mowatt. I hope we can start quicker and recognise the situations where we can break with pace as apposed to trying to pass 2/3/4 passes before the thought of going forward. As we become a little predictable and give the opposition to set up their defense. Have to say I am a little turned on by the potential.
Thing is, Bianchi offers the incisive forward pass, I don't see that as much from Mowatt or (though I don't really know him\ yet) Sloth. His pass was pivotal to get our equaliser
Great thread. Just wondering, I thought the consensus was not to overplay Cook, given his young age. Maybe he might be rested tomorrow?
leeds utd 3 huddersfield 1 the cream ( leeds utd ) moving up to the top ! mc cormack could be playing in the 1st division next season !!
nice one LiD ... Bianchi is a must, Cook to play at home and rest him for next away match ... Austin off bench is a good option ... I am still nervous about Pearce as he gets wrong side too often and then has his hands all over opponents in the box, would really like to see Cooper get a run next to Bellusci, think that will end up being our CB pairing ... would be great to see a run of clean sheets now to build on our progress, but we need to get away from this diamond, it slows us down too much Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Cooper's much better on the ball than Pearce, so I think it's only a matter of time before he replaces Pearce. Pearce never looks comfortable on the ball.
You know what, not many would change a winning side, but I would drop Sharp and boost the midfield. I'd include Adryan to the starting line up
I remember reading that Ajose was Hockerday's choice. I'd send Ajose out on loan to maybe the Blunts, or back to Peterborough. Bianci, I reckon adds stability. I'd drop Sharp. I know he's our centre forward, and we are at home, but he's off form
If Salmond hadn't have been a useless cnut you would have been heading north in a cattle truck as I type.
As long as the truck doesn't go to Edinburgh. Or little england as it's known. They were spilling sherry on their cravats after hearing their result this morning.
Think the Posh fans were pretty keen to see Ajose go so not sure he'd go back there on loan. I think he needs to go somewhere though as I don't see how he fits in our squad. I'd start Sharp tomorrow I think he'll be well up for it. Considering all the new foreign blood we have in our squad he of all people will be up for a Yorkshire derby and really know what it's all about. I reckon he'll score tomorrow
Good morning guys, is everyone still happy after the Bournmouth game? What are the thoughts on Milanic? Looking forward to a good game today - hopefully starting quickly and a 3-0 win
A small step, but we have waited too long to be above the wallies, I would say that the bermondsey knuckledraggers will be very scarce if it happens today, but they have left the building already. Seems even they know it's a when not an if.
Kinda miss mighty with the doom and gloom stuff like Cellino will wreck club like in Italy, signs all rubbish players. knows nothing about football. Mighty and tc eat the odd pizza and think they're experts on all things Italian
