Redders didn't get off to the dream winning start that we would have all loved in his latest managerial stint at Leeds, with the Whites going down 3-1 away at Cardiff. While many fans believe there was little chance of any other result than a defeat in that game, it is getting more difficult to ignore the fact that Leeds are now without a win in 7. Charlton visit Elland Road for the midweek fixture knowing that this is a squad in the grips of a crisis of confidence, though their own faltering form is enough for them to concentrate on. Charlton had a better start to the season than many expected, lifting the Addicks into the upper half of the table, though one win in their last 5 has seen that early position start to waiver. Leeds will see this as a potentially tricky fixture, though the fans will be expecting a win to end the current dreadful run. Historically Leeds come out on top with this one, but Charlton have a great record at Elland Road recently, unbeaten in their last 6 visits. Not quite the bogey record Leeds faced at the weekend, but another run that United will want to put an end to. Leeds Wins 22 Draws 13 Charlton Wins 14

Leeds Form Charlton Form Last Meeting

L 3 - 1 Cardiff

L 1 - 2 Wolves

D 1 - 1 Norwich

L 2 - 1 Rotherham

D 1 - 1 Sheff Wed

Sheff Wed 1 - 1 D

Fulham 3 - 0 L

Bolton 2 - 1 W

Bournemouth 1 - 0 L

Birmingham 1 - 1 D

 0 - 1 Charlton Win Elland Road 01/04/14

Team News Damned's Starting XI

Leeds Neil Redfearn could make a few changes once again as Leeds continue to struggle. Charlton may not be enjoying a solid run themselves at the minute, but we are in disarray. I think we will play well and score, but I am quickly losing confidence in the quality of our defence, as it seems there is always a mistake in them at the minute. Team wise, I debated for a long time dropping Bellusci for Cooper, as I think something needs freshening up in the back line. Formation wise I liked the intent shown by a 4-3-3 by Redfearn against Cardiff, though I would have gone with Sharp rather than Morison at the point of the attack.

Have Your Say Will the run extend to 8 without a win? Charlton a great little club, but they now have an owner every bit as bad as ours. If we don't win this then it's a long hard fight to avoid relegation.
Brilliant match thread!! I wouldn't say our owner is as bad, though he has some obvious faults. Spending £2million on one striker was a massive step in the right direction - and something we hadn't done in 6 years. From a Charlton perspective, I'm not overly confident about this. We have injuries and aren't the same side we were a month ago. I haven't seen much from you this season, but you always read the stories about Leeds. I hope we can capitalise and get the 3 points, but think it will be a dull 1-1. I think both sides would take that.
Bit shocked to see Charltons form, for some reason I thought it was real good.Lets hope its worse come wednesday.Think Pearce is suspended isn't he.
Cheers mate, and thanks for the Charlton perspective on things. So did I until I did the research, appears they are having a blip of their own. No where near on a par with ours though I'd also worry about the confidence impact going into the weekend if we get another bad result here
Great thread, well done. Personally Im beyond making predictions. Feels so much like last season, unable to see where next win is coming from. Maybe were just a lucky break away from turning things around
Nothing less than a 2-0+ canter wil suffice. Time we put in periods of good displays into one that lasts the whole game. If ti, wouldn't be too surprised to see Sharp leqding the attack.
Doesn't this go against what you felt on this mornings thread? Doesn't get much worse than not being able to see where a next win will come from
Well done on another good thread Durham. Charlton have lost just twice, but drawn eight and their last two away losses were against two in form sides, Fulham and Bournemouth. I agree with the Charlton fan that this looks like a score draw.
Fair point Ristac. Find my mood going downhill as the day goes on reading the various threads. God knows what Ill be like by bedtime I might just read Boggers threads only and block everyone elses for the rest of the week and see if I improve
Durham, even when I'm on the sauce, I still get depressed watching the Whites, I don't know what Boggers is on, but fair play to him..
Wont take much Saks. All Im looking for is a couple of decent performances between now and the weekend. Surely not too much to ask
Don't hold your breath Eire. I just can't see us scoring many. I said it before, whats the point in all this sideways and backward passing if there is no end product..ie a fecking goal...
Knee jerk reaction by coaches who don't want to play hoofball. Hopefully Redders will bring a more direct attacking passing game, we saw a few signs of it in those 4 games before Darko
im not bothered about the style as long as were getting results. Doesn't seem to happen no matter what style or formation we play whether its diamonds, christmas trees or four grained forked formations
