http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17192658 I just don't get it. Surely after the number of clubs that Webber has been at (must be at least 10) and his never quite making it at any of them (20 goals in 107 appearances for Sheff Utd!), you would think that managers would have realised that he just ain't going to cut it at Championship level. Must be a last chance for him. Or am I missing something? Would we have him back?
I guess it shouldn't come too much as a surprise as Warnock likes to surround himself with a core of players he knows, and he did have Danny at Sheffield United and took him on trial at QPR. The surprise is Bates would let him increase the squad with such a player seeming he thinks they already have an inflated squad! As to whether he is good enough... only time will tell bt the signs do point to no! It's probably a no-lose situation though. He's on a free, doubt he'd demand too much money and is only until the end of the season. Unlikely he'll play too much a part but not exactly a huge gamble!
If I had to choose between Iwelumo and Webber I would choose Webber. He is (or was) quick and was very effective running through on goal. He did well for us and we always played better with him in the side. He has not had the impact in his later career that I thought he would, but he remains a good player and I would be pleased to see him back at Watford given our limited options up front.
I must be the only person (other than Warnock) that is happy with this signing. We still have to play the weeds, and with him on the pitch, its one less player to worry about.
At Elland Road, we'll outplay you even more comprehensively than we did at the... whatever your ground's called.
Yeah like you have outplayed teams all season - Colin, Bates and The Dirty Ones, what a threesome - they trurly deserve each other. Webber - another one of those players that deceives and never flatters
i don't doubt you'll put on a great display...of playing dirty and trying to win in any way possible...
Nothing has changed really since the 60's has it. They were dirty leeds then, and they are just as filthy now.
We really getting into all this a month before the match? Come on, we all know Leeds are a massive club who have a devine right to be in the Premiership whereas Watford are just a little club who should let them walk all over us!
not intentionally. We have bigger fish to fry first ...oops, mustn't admit that to Leeds fans, must we!
Well we all know that that they are using their history to compensate for the fact that they are ****e now! They are insecure, lets not forget since 05-06 (when we beat them to promotion) they have been relegated were only promoted back to the 2nd tier in 2010. But the Weeds will neglect to mention that. Whilst we have not finished lower than 16th in the Championship since 2005/6.
You're on the wrong board - Accrington starts with an 'A' and they're in League 2. Try looking there if you can.
