Breaking News: A group named Leeds Fans United have announced they have agreed a deal in principal to by a majority stake off Cellino. Oh dear, here we go ... we need a wealthy owner to come and buy us and pump gazillions into the club ... a supporters group that's skint is NOT what we need.

Can a supporters' group really have buckets full of cash to push Leeds forward? Will people in this group dig deep and put stacks of personal cash into the club? It is tough running a football club, and it costs a lot of money. Even Cellino. with his $820m wealth would not stick £50m into Leeds to get to the Prem. A fan group buying the club may well mean another ten years of struggle before they finally sell up and move on. Cellino is doing a Bates by agreeing this deal, and I can see him waltzing back in after his ban and buying back the shares at a discounted price.

Who is this group? Are they helping Cellino out so that he can keep an influence in Leeds while he sits in Florida and serves his ban? Going to be interesting to hear more about this.

"Leeds Fans Utd has today reached agreement in principle with Massimo Cellino to purchase a majority stake in Leeds United Football Club.

We are evaluating next steps and will be issuing you with updates as we proceed."

    <laugh>

Isn't this the lot that couldn't raise enough for 25% not so long ago?

    Seen it on look north.

" Cellino has agreed to sell his stake to this group with no profit".
He has refused to say how much he wants though.
A safe bet that he wants every penny he has laid out, and won't be discounting for the income he has pocketed.
£40-£50mill... Not a hope in hell of this deal happening.

Only way it's gonna happen is if they have some extremely wealthy backers. Not sure if they exist though!

This is not a new thing.

Leeds Fans LLP have been around for the last 6-9 months, and trying to gain enough money to put Dylan Thwaites on the LUFC board.

Knew they had arranged talks with Cellino, but not takeover talks.

    BUT, if Pearson were involved???

If they have raised £400K since January, how long will it take them to raise £35M?

Massimo is a buisiness man, never told us about the time wasters last year.If he's telling us this now,he must have been convinced they have the backers and the money.

Yes they are a gamble but is there anyone left who believes we can get promoted under Cellino? They might fail miserably but they might bring some normality, a big gamble?

What are we exactly gambling? Cellino is as bad as Ken Bates as far as I am concerned, everyone (rightly so) jumped on Ken Bates back but they are willing to believe Cellino spent the Ross money on new players, they turn a blind eye to the appointments like Hockaday, Darko, Evans, it is okay for him to run up legal bills.

I actually hate Cellino more than Bates, more than Risdale worse man to ever step foot into Elland Road

Fair comments Ristac. I've reached the point where I'm not too bothered anymore. No owner will put their own money in anyway. It'll always be some weird combination of shares, loans etc so we'll always be up to our bollix in debt to someone. What the hell, let them have a crack at it, cannot be worse than what we've had
