Ok, so I know there obviously a confidentiality attached to the takeover, but that doesn't mean the club cannot issue regular interim statements if even to confirm everything is still on track. To me, this whole thing smacks of the fans being treated as irrelevant by our present owners. Even the prospective owner obviously hasn't a clue how passionate we all are about Leeds United or he would sanction some sort of a statement putting our minds at ease. Something to the effect that we can't see this thing taking longer than say two weeks. Rant over for now
Eire, I can relate to your frustration, but tell ya what, one of the only reasons Warnock has not quit is because of us....The fans.....
Agreed, but all the more reason why I feel we deserve a little more respect. After all, the new owners must realise that without the fantastic Leeds support they are buying nothing
I am suspecting that the potential new owners do not want to be identified until such time as a deal is done so as to give the seller less leverage until such time as the deal is done. Either that or it is a transaction with a buyer that does not intend to be known. Perhaps involving some blind, discretionary trusts out of Switzerland or one of the seller's favourite off-shore havens? Hmmm.......
Erie Your talking about Bates and im afraid all he cares about is himself he does not give a jackshit about you the fans, the club,or anything else,,,, its been said many times before i know and its true the mans an asshole and i wouldnt put anything past him, he will tread on anybody and anything that gets in his way, and that includes the most important people of all you the real fans,,,
Forests due diligence was completed in a couple of days that was 1 lot of books Leeds has a reported 17 lots of books so work on that it'll be 34days after that statement on the Internet
Not necessarily. The company doing the due diligence just puts more people in place to do the work. On a side note, I hope the many fans holding back their cash either on season tickets or merchandise, continue to do so until takeover is finalised. Last thing we would need now is wads of cash appearing in one office door and out the back in either Harvey's or Bates briefcases. I'm sure pressure from the terraces financially have helped force the old codgers hand
Patience is a virtue. If the takeover isn't ready yet, or there are obstacles still to overcome, it is right that we are not informed nor involved. Call you imagine the panic?
I would suggest you would be better off giving that money to a charity, perhaps the Campaign Against Social Homelessness. As a board member of this trust I can pass on your cheque marked "CASH" to the organisation based in Nigeria and under the management of Dr Uve Bin Hadd. Send you charity gift cheque to: 10 Pee Road, Urine, Nigeria.
You can't criticise the new owners for not keeping the fans informed, they have no relationship with us until they buy, and there could be many commercial reasons why they don't want their interest to be public until the deal is done. You can't really do due diligence for a complex business in a day - its nonsense, it can only be a few superficial checks and maybe relying on the sellers undertakings and representations, if you are lucky you might get some form of indemnity on some of them (which would be hard to enforce, probably). Oddly, whoever is buying from Bates seems to feel the need to take their time over the due diligence. Can't blame the new owners (if thats what they will be) at all. On Bates - to be fair (now whats brought this on?) he could not do much more than say "the matter I can't tell you about is still being discussed and there are no setbacks/there's been a delay to xxx/its still progressing" - would be nice, but actually would tell us little.
Well done. Play them at their own game. If they don't think it worth their while to issue any update, they can't expect money from the fans. Why would anyone buy into a product before any details of it were available. I know its only a matter of time, but still think it could have been done better from a pr perspective for the fans. In fact only for the pressure from LUST, I doubt if the club would have made any statement at all

Hint of dodgy stuff going on at ER? No real investment or take over, but if we tell the fans that there is then they'll buy season tickets and merchandise and we will be rich again. Then when everyone has bought stuff, we will tell them the investors have pulled out for their own reasons.....
Every possibility. Certainly if another two weeks pass with no final deal, it will look very dubious. Hope to God and Allah this goes through. Im off to Spain in two weeks for the hols and want to spend some time reading about great signings and pre season friendly reports. Don't want to still be reading Lust comments that were nearly there
Have a great time in Spain. I'm off to Syria to join the freedom fighters, it's my favourite summer pastime.
Do you want to buy a wall? We have one... only slightly used. It faces the wrong direction but otherwise perfect.
