Lee Peltier will be missing for 2 weeks with a groin strain. But the good news is John Pantsil now has a work permit. So i think Matt Oakley will now go right back against Rotherham and John Pantsil will play saturday v Reading. Some of the news papers are reporting today that Shane Long will sign for West Brom. If that is true I think we will go all out for Nicky Maynard again and I think this time they would consider selling at the right price. If we fail for Maynard and Long there is only 1 other option left. Yakubu

We would have to pay his massive wages

That's a blow for him, he scores and must think he's a shoe in for next week, now he's going to have to win his place back from an expereinced Premier League international. Hopefully Pantsil will be solid (and won't score an own goal ;) ) but I can't see him being much of a threat going forward.

Its a shame for Peltier after 2 solid performances against Real Madrid and Cov and scoring the winner. He looks like he has got the shirt for the time being and now its being taken off him for no fault of his own. It Pantsil time to shine now and if he dont Pelts will be ready to get his shirt back

Shame for Peltier because I like him as a player and I think he's better going forward than Pantsil and with Danns wide right, he tends to cut in and play more centrally which means we need the full-back going forward to provide width. I'm sure Pantsil will be solid though and he's a very good player and it shows the depth of our squad that we have a player as good as him coming in as a back-up. This is the good part of competition that now Pantsil comes in and knows that he has to play out of his skin to retain his place and likewise when Peltier plays again, he'll know that he's got a proven Premier League and International player breathing down his neck.

As for the striker, I don't think we'll go back to Yak if Maynard and Long fail, I actually think Sven will look at loaning someone from the PL. Robbie Keane springs to mind.

I really hope that Pelts can get back in the side.

He is obviously a hard working and determined young lad and I would hate if if he looses his place to Pantsil (I think they are both equals ability wise, but Pelts has earned his place)
