Can't say I know much about him other than he was lucky to have Jordan Rhodes.

Huddersfield fans were dancing in the street when they got rid of him. Clark would be a shockingly bad appointment IMO - another Phil Parkinson

To outsiders his sacking seemed truly bizarre - but pretty much all Huddersfield fans say he made poor decisions and was holding the team back. When a team has such a decent record and fans STILL don't rate him, it's worth wondering why.

    Huddersfield Town

After Huddersfield Town had sacked manger Stan Ternent on 4 November 2008, The Terriers were reported to be interested in then Norwich assistant manager Clark. On 12 December 2008, Clark was officially unveiled as the new manager of League One side Huddersfield Town signing a three-and-a-half year contract. Clark replaced Gerry Murphy, who had been caretaker manager for the League One side following the departure of Ternent. The first move made by Clark was to appoint Terry McDermott as his assistant as well as bringing in Derek Fazackerley in as first team coach and Steve Black as Performance Coach all of whom had previously worked with Newcastle United.[7] Clark officially took over on 15 December his first game in charge of the club was a 2–0 win over Hereford United on 20 December.

In his first season at the club he helped them to a ninth-placed finish in League One. They also only lost two home league games under Clark in the 2008–09 season. In his second season in charge Clark helped Huddersfield to secure a play-off spot and became the first manager to win three Manager of the Month award in a single season since Roberto Martinez in 2007–08.[8] Huddersfield were defeated by Millwall in the 2009-10 play-off semi-final.

In the 2010–11 season, Clark guided Huddersfield to a third-placed finish in the league, earning them a place in the Play-Offs after a club-record 25-game unbeaten run in the league. They reached the final after beating Bournemouth 4–2 on penalties, but lost 3–0 to Peterborough in the Old Trafford final. In July 2011, he agreed a new rolling contract with the club.[9]

Clark continued breaking records at the beginning of the 2011–12 season, after 18 games of the current season their unbeaten run currently stands at 43 games, the second longest domestic league unbeaten run in English football history.

Clark was sacked as manager of Huddersfield on 15 February 2012 following a 1–0 home defeat to Sheffield United; despite his team sitting fourth in the table having lost just three of their last 55 league matches.[10]

    He'll do for me!!

one of the better candidates. but considering how he was fired by Huddersfield would he want to manage with the Allems in charge of the club

I think Lee Clark will do a great job for you if you get him. It was very strange that Huddersfield sacked him after he did such a very good job there.

I'm pretty sure the guardian have a good record re City news. Weather that's he case or they are merely reporting betting odds as news.

I'd be in favour of it. If he steals Rhodes, Hunt and Smithies I wouldn't complain either

I think a lot of the Huddesfield comments were bitter because he applied for the Leeds job a' la our reaction to NB when we found out he had applied for the Leicester job.
But taking Clark's record at the club into account it is a bit strange that hardly any of them wanted to keep him.

Despite that run he failed to get Huddersfield up - he is unproven at championship level (as was Phil Parkinson) and if you think NB had no plan B ask Huddersfield fans about Clark's tactics - or lack of. No idea what to do if they went behind.

The funny thing with them sacking Clark is when we sacked Sven we was linked with Clark and Huddersfield was adamant he wasnt going anywhere. He said he was happy and they said they was fully behind him and didnt want him to leave for anyone. And then a few months down the line he is sacked. Its not like he was losing games or anything in between so something else must of happened.

There is alot of big clubs in League 1 so Huddersfield was always going to find it difficult to get top 2 but they had a chance

You could do alot worse then getting Lee Clark

Lee Clarke seems to rub supporters up the wrong way. Maybe he doesn't care who he plays for/ manages.

Remember when the Geordies got to Wembley and he was spotted in the crowd wearing a t-shirt saying "sad mackem bastards". Quite bad considering he played for Sunderland at the time.

He wouldn't be my first choice, but compared to the likes of Dowie, Megson and Laws he's good enough for me!
