I can't see Bowyer going to Huddersfield, there are clubs in this league with better squads who would be a better gig for him if he really wants to leave. Even at 3/10 I just can't see it. If there is a market for it not to happen I would lump on that
I can't see it (though to be frank, I never thought we'd be worrying about Brentford taking our best players either). There were a couple of tweets today that made me worry a bit, but Bowyer has invested a lot of time and effort in the current squad. I think he'll stay.
Very hard to see what the attraction would be for Lee Bowyer in joining Huddersfield. They are a basket case of a club, currently being sustained by parachute money. Him going to Leeds ? - yes, after Bielsa leaves. But not the ‘Udders. More chance of @Beware of the Virus posting something interesting or @DickPlumb winning a BAFTA.
At least until March next year. Then we can all enjoy singing the Joy Division terrace classic "Leeds, Leeds are falling apart again..."
I did vote for you solely as a witty and amusing contributor. I have now also voted for you as a pain in the arse
Now the papers are picking up on it ... https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/huddersfield-make-charlton-boss-lee-19122993 May force the Belgian into giving Bow and the team longer term contracts.... the only chance the Belgian has of getting his money back is if we get to the Prem and Bow and the boys are our best chance of doing that..
Bowyer is the sort of manager you can make a long term project with. Make it clear you will back him in the long term and he Will probably deliver - he has always delivered a team spirit with matching results that exceed what logic would have expected. He comes across as a canny man manager with a tactical nous we haven't seen for years and years. Dealing him out a miserly one year contract at the end of each season would be a potentially disastrous business decisión. We could certainly cut costs by getting a cheaper manager (but really the saving would be minimal) but to find someone who could work the current magic would be nigh on impossible.
I expect him to fulfil his one year contract unless Leeds come in for him, but can't see us keeping him beyond that under the same conditions, ie a one year contract and last minute wheeling and dealing ever summer. And I don't blame him.
Lee Bowyer nominated for August Championship Manager of the Month Lyle Taylor nominated for Player of the Month It will be an absolute scandal if Bowyer is denied MoM. We've out-performed everyone else except Swansea, and they are expected to do well.
Cooper at Swansea will win it. Lardy, not even Swansea fans think they will do anything this season, so if he wins it, it is what it is
