Honest admission by Bielsa that Bowyer did a job on him, saying in his pidgin English that although his players were individually better, Bowyer got more out of his collectively.
Absolutely ludicrous that he's not on a long-term contract. In the absence of a CEO Steve Gallen may be negotiating players' contracts, but it's up to Douchatelet to get Bowyer tied down on a deal which reflects his ability. I don't have any doubt that with the proper backing he can get us into the top tier, but the clock is ticking.
Dushitelet keeps f****** around Bowyer with a contract, he'll eventually leave. 4k new season ticket holders and 3k cash on the day will just shrug their shoulders.
Another managerial masterclass yesterday. Derby were poor, but give Charlton credit for that. Playing three at the back they blocked off all angles of attack, giving Phillips his easiest game of the season.
Lee Bowyer is really going to have to earn his corn now. The injuries to key players are mounting up. You could tell from Williams face on Saturday that his injury was a bad one, but to lose him to a knee op and a two month recuperation is a massive blow. Sam Field also left the ground in a knee brace last night.
Players out of Saturday's game at West Brom. Matthews, Lapslie, Purrington, Page, Forster - Caskey, Williams, Hemed, Taylor, Leko. Some under 23s will have to be on the bench. I think the team will look like this. Phillips Osilaja, Lockyer, Pearce, Sarr, Solly Pratley Cullen, Gallagher, Oztumer Bonne. Subs. Amos, Kayal, Aneke,Dempsey, Davison.
there could be a oh **** moment coming... stoke have sacked nathan jones. bowyer could be on their list...
The most likely scenario is that Bowyer sees the season out then makes himself available, unless Leeds sack their manager before that. No way will Douchatelet change his ways and allow Bowyer to build solid foundations, that means investment, but Bowyer will give him every chance, because he does want to stay.
No way will Leeds sack Bielsa during the season, he is a God up there. He is out of contract at the end of this season though, so Leeds may well then come calling. Sooner or later we will lose Bowyer to a more ambitious club if Duchâtelet stays.
