It’s very hard to think of another manager in the Championship who is currently doing a better job than Lee Bowyer...especially given the budget constraints.
I get your point. But if they are just going to award it to whichever team has got the most points in any calendar month, then they should not even bother having nominations. Just give the prize out.
I like Bowyer's low-key language, in the tradition of Curbs and Lennie. When asked about a new contract he says it "has to be right for everybody". Reading between the lines, he knows what he is worth, and there are conditions which have to be met before he signs. If you add this to Gallen's observations that there is no way we can have another summer like this one, (with so many contracts running out and the ensuing last minute mania), and I reckon he will only sign up if he is allowed to build something permanent, with players committed to the club long-term. What else could he mean?
Lardi, the August Manager of the Month nearly always goes to the Manager top of the League... it's just what happens!

Lee Bowyer (budget £7.50) loses out on August MoM to the bloke from Swansea ( parachute money ) Shocker
I think you were the only person to believe that Bows could win it Lardi …. August always goes to the team at the top mate.
If that's true then they should not even bother with a short list of candidates. Typical deceit and patronising of supporters. If Bowyer was never going to win it, it's an insult to nominate him in my opinion.
Don't get wound up by stuff that really doesn't matter in the overall scheme of things, Swansea are not going to get extra points because of this …. so it really doesn't matter a jot I'm sure that it won't bother Bow in the slightest.
Don't worry about Bowyer, he'll get plenty of achievements in his career that mean a lot more than MOTM. He hinted in his usual understated way that he would like to fulfil his ambitions at Charlton, but it will have to be under a different owner, one who is also ambitious. The value of the club is related to whether Bowyer is the manager, because we won't get another one as good.
Piggy should recognise when he is onto a good thing and sell up this season. But he never was very bright when it comes to football.
Tragically ironic too. Bowyer's success has given him a whiff of Premier League dosh, so he won't sell, thereby ensuring that Bowyer will move on in the summer.
He'll p*** people around, he'll p*** around with contracts, and see if we can stumble into the play-offs. Once Bauer put the ball in the net he was never going to sell this season. There is more chance of Mr ban Gerwen sprouting hair than Dushitelet selling.
