A QPR ST holder on Twitter has told me that their first choice as new manager is now Kenny Jackett. Lee Bowyer is still 100% on their radar. Les Ferdinand wanted his old mate Tim Sherwood, but the reaction of their fans has put him off
Kenny Jackett has been there and got the tee shirt, Bowyer is still learning his trade … Jackett is the safe choice but why leave Pompey for QPR??…. Lee on the other hand would be leaving Charlton a far more understandable choice.
Bowyer has the potential to be an outstanding manager, and considering that his appointment was a bit of a fluke we are very fortunate to have him. His contract situation is surreal.
Did someone else mention this?... but Bowjackson's contract negotiations really do remind me of Brexit negotiations.. the Belgian thinks he can swing a heavily performance related contract on Bowjackson when they just want a reasonable monthly wage and yet the Belgian seems totally unaware that come the summer there will be a number of other clubs after Bowyer
When it comes to football Roland is completely mad. You have to bear that in mind, performances are not his primary concern. He has made that clear, for instance when he sacked Riga after he kept us up. He lives in his own bubble.
I genuinely think Roland's motto regarding managers is 'plenty more fish in the sea'. The fact that some of his appointments have been catastrophic doesn't seem to alter his view.
