I was not really trying to make a point earlier, it's just Mr van Gerwen is hassle early in the morning and was giving my arse a headache.
I guess he took the gig because he simply got the bug, and couldn't turn down the challenge. I'd also guess that his opinion of Roland is less charitable than it was. The third guess is that one season of Roland will be enough for him.
We now have a three game season. We are not going up automatically and we will have to go on a 10 game run without winning to be in danger of falling out of the top 6. The season starts in May.
Charlton's form has tailed off significantly of late. We have won only 3 of our last 9 league games, taking only 12 points from a possible 27 in that time. Unless that form improves it's perfectly possible that Charlton could slip out of the top 6. Doncaster Rovers, Blackpool, Fleetwood, Wycombe - even Coventry and Peterborough if they revive their awful form - will be gunning hard for a play-off place. Meanwhile Roland has sabotaged our promotion push and made Bowyer look a fool. Our last hope now is Lyle Taylor. It looks like he alone will have to keep CAFC in with a play-off chance, if he can control his short fuse.
We'll be alright. Blackpool, Fleetwood and Coventry will have to go on a ridiculous run of form to pose problems. It will be 2 from the 3 of Doncaster, Peterborough and us.
The tailing off in form has coincided with Aribo's knee injury. And Bowyer has said he had a reaction to an injection, which has delayed his recovery.
Bowyer has got the biggest poisoned chalice in English football. Don’t knock him - Euell or Bert the Groundsman will be next for a turn.
