Had an aboslute blinder when he came on. Made a real difference. I would definately like to see him come on more often with half a game, 30 mins left... If I were Adkins I would stick with the same team as today for our next match. Complete domination and looks like a plan B should plan A fail. Barnard was a perfect impact sub today. Added pace to the game. For me it's between him and Adam Lallana for Man of the Match. Who do you think deserves it? COYR!!
i thought he should have got it, his constant harrassing of the defenders was brilliant, jaidi also had a good game, amazing header!
For me... Lallana or Hammond!! Agree.. Winning team shouldn't be changed but Barnard I think it's time to give him a start!! He worked his backside off coming on - all credit to him! Fantastic goal!!
Before the game I wanted Barney to start ahead of Guly, but he was impressiv as an impact sub and Guly had a fairly good game today so I wouldn't change anything. I think Butterfield needs to move quicker though, although he is an OAP so it is a big ask...
guly missed to sitters that im sure barnard would have tucked away, i would start with barnard in the next game
Guly's first was not a sitter, it was good thinking and nearly went in. Should have scored his second chance though. Credit to Adkins for changing things right after they scored. Schneiderlin, Barnard and Richardson should all start against Walsall as Butterfield had a bit of a shocker today. Lallana MOTM for me, think he deserves it every week he's that good. Anyway good result and UTS!
Chamberlain must be in with a shout. Not only did well going forward but who can forget his great trecking back to block Swindon as they homed in on goal early doors.
I think Guly picked up an injury today, hopefully not serious. Spider was back to his best, may have not been 100% fit recently, we know the Club keeps it's bad news under their hat. The Squad ethic was worth its weight in gold today. Lala just got MoM from me Lambo 2nd.
Lambert by a mile for me....he is getting back to the Lambert of old but with a bit more fitness.........
Lambert for me too, especially after putting up with being fouled constantly. Barnard looked very good coming on late, but was not on long enough to make a judgement, and Guly was missing a cutting edge today. Lallana nearly always puts in a MOM performance but you have to share it around
Yeah Barnard was great today. Really want him to start on tuesday. Lallana put in a great performance as always, Jaidi was a rock at the back and scored a good goal and I thought Hammond played really well. However, my man of the match goes to Lambert. Terrific all round display and he is back to his best
I see that some of you didn't rate Guly's performance, I think you have to look more into what he did do rather than what he didn't. There were times when he was chasing back beyond our 30 yard line even behind Harding. Course then the ball is switched and where is he by this time well behind the ball. If he hadn't defended so deep? Who knows but there is at times an imbalance, which for me needs to be addressed. You cannot have your full backs overtaking your mid fielders if the midfielders are not going to do some defending (replacing the full back) Getting back to Guly, yes he missed a sitter, I would not mind betting a very high percentage of you that have played football as a forward, have missed a few as well, it happens. He did play his heart out without a lot of luck.
Guly may have not scored much recently, but he makes very good runs which create space for him and others to score. He may miss some chances, but I appreciate how many chances he actually creates. When Barnard and Lambert start, I think there's a tendancy for both of them to be playing the same role holding the ball up, whereas Guly does offer more intelligent runs behind the back 4. However I do agree that Barnard may be in line for a start against Walsall ahead of Guly, but i think both do a great job and offer alot to our team whether it be starting or impact from the bench.
