well we've had the most what about the least. there's a few liverpool scoring 3 times at wolves & ruining my night as almost everyone. going into admin. the play off final at cardiff had fantastic day up untill the end of the match. more recent the ipswich game at home when we was 2nil down at h/t in which we should have been at least 6down, to me thats got to be one of the worst ist half performances i've come across. just one more that sticks out paul hart only home win can't remember who against where we had mor defenders on than attackers disgraceful.
These are all, of course, memorable, but for the wrong reasons. I can't quite put my finger on the least memorable moment!
beating Sheff Wed 8-2 in the milk cup (i think it was the milk cup) and then losing 3-0 to Plymouth Argyle at home in the next round.talk about anti climax
I cannot remenber the detail as the title "least memorable", and it has probably happened several times in our history, buit I remember a game at Loftus Road in the mid/late 70's when we had a fantastic team and totally p*ssed over some other top division team (don't remember who this most boring team in the World was - Birmingham or Sheff United maybe)- but though we totally dominated for 89 minutes against an oppostion that had all 11 back pretty much in their own box, we couldn't put it in the net. They of course scored on their one chance from a break out in the last minute or so and we lost 0-1. Don't ever quite remember going home quite as p*ssed off as that afternoon, though the Milk Cup final defeat to Oxford came pretty close - at least R's filling about 3/4 of Wembley was a big positive that day!
Milk Cup......still waiting for QPR to turn up. Vauxhall Motors, Liverpool stopping the QPR win the Championship, taking my nephew to Cardiff and see him witnessing what a grumpy ole *&***** his uncle can be when he team get beaten, being seconds frm going out of business, FA Cup replay defeat, players coming to the cub that don't want to be there and milk the club dry Can I just say I'm not really a bitter person..just protective over the club I love
Milk Cup Final...having to drive back down the M40 with thousands of piss-taking Oxford fans...dreadful!!
Too many grim moments but the one that depressed me most was the 82 Cup final replay,i really thought we were gonna win it.Losing to Cardiff comes close and installing Dowie for about the 20th time also left me clinging to life by a thread!
I must be getting more optimistic the older I get Hammersmith, to have won that Cup Final replay without an injured Clive Allen would have surprised me. Though on the evening we should have won - I remember well the ref getting in the way of our clearance and leading to their goal - the lucky b'st'rds..
Had a really horrible hotdog without mustard in the loft if memory serves me right it was 78'79 season and we were playing Middlesborough
Too many, but one match that filled me with despair was the FA Cup 5th round vs Nottm Forest. As a twelve year old standing in the Loft, my holy Grail was to see my beloved Rs get to Wembley. We were 1-0 up going into the last minute, two games from the final. Then up popped Martin O'Neil with a stooping header past Phil Parkes. We drew the replay up there 1-1, before losing the 2nd replay 3-1. A boys dream over.
