For the most part, yesterday turned out to be a bit of a struggle. That said though, some nice winners were found. Again L2 led the way in returns, but the spotlight should shine on the those who reside in L1. RV again charged to the head of the field, bagging three winners which took in a handy 10.30. Red put in a sterling effort to take second from Oddy who always seems to be there about these days. The withdrawal of Stick has caused a minor problem. He's asked to be no longer included in further comps, but just for the sake of keeping an even keel, he started as a non runner and took an automatic drop. If he chooses to not start next week, then he'll drop from all the results. Top score for the day went to the "Wonder from Downunder." With a single 16.00 winner, I managed to storm back into the big time for next week. BJM and Sizing filled the placings, and along with Arks, also move to L1.

Cyc, it went to my last race of the day to keep my top flight status... 9/1 in the morning in went off at 7/2 when i found out... I even had a little bit of money on it also... Very nice indeed...<ok>

Will RV take over as a 3 time champ...? Can the German wonder get back to the top...? Has stick finally snapped...? Can the Wonder From Downunder keep up his form to maybe steal the final week before he heads off into the sunset...? Can i manage to stay in the top flight for more than a week...?

All this and many more things to be resolved in Cyc's penultimate Single Comp next week...<cheers>

RV. Listen. I decided to do Geraghty's mounts yesterday and had to pick 5 from 6. If I had used any method other than my logic I might have even had top score and would have been in L1 to ensure you didn't win next week. I might now just concentrate on getting my handicap down for next season. I take it you will be running handicaps.

Just don't get me in a seller. I don't want everyone to know I'm worth SFA.

<rofl> rumors this morning are that connections of the "plodder from down under" COUGH CYC are considering retiring their 97 yo colt after his win yesterday. They also slammed the press for claiming the other jockeys should be banned for giving him a 30 length head start with the second just failing by a nose to reel the old boy in.

With wild, unconfirmed rumours sweeping the course after the race, stewards had little option but to call in the connections of the Wonder from Downunder for questioning. During a rather heated exchange, the trainer denied any knowledge of the bucket, funnel and hose found in in the long grass next to the horse's on course stable. Clearly the gardeners had it in for the Antipodean invader. As for the rather inferior efforts of other jocs in running, the trainer pointed out they were just UK riders after all. Little more could be expected of them when they had to line up against the likes of Stumpy Miller, the legendary outback hoop who'd taken the sit on the horse.

It only gets worse Dex. You and Cats tied for the last spot in L1. On a count back, you were still tied. So we went back to look at the two unplaced runners you each had. Both of you had Baby Shine, so they cancelled out. This left you with you sole selection which fell. Cat's other runner finished 7th. He stayed up, you took the hit. :)
