How much harder do you all think it is to get promoted from the Championship this season compared to last year and 2 years ago? I reckon it's the toughest it's ever been, harder than last season which was itself harder than the season before. Any more slip-ups and I could see a hard fight for us just staying in the playoffs. Optimistically, I can see us just scraping autos if everything goes well (ie most first team players coming into better form), but probably only by courtesy of our GD though.
Cardiff have completely ran away with it. As for 2nd place Hull and us are in the driving seat. Hull have the points and we have the games in hand. Watford are more then capable of getting 2nd but I dont think Palace have enough quality throughout their side remain at the top But yeah this has been one of the tightest finishes for some time.
I don't think it's unusual to see a tight race for second place. There's plenty of time for one or two contenders to drop away yet. Cardiff have looked like winning the league pretty much all season. Again, it's not unusual for one team to look good all season, even if they don't actually end up winning the league.
Cardiff will take one place. The play-offs will be a nightmare Watford, us, you, Palace and probably Blackburn.... (minus one of those for autos)
Both our clubs WILL make the play offs One will get automatic One will win the play off final Both will go up Fingers crossed
Play offs are 90% guaranteed for both of us now. I cant see either of us throwing that away now. There is a chance for one of us to take 2nd with IMO only Watford the other contenders for it
I am genuinely surprised (and so is Bruce as I take it from an article I read the other day) that Hull are still up there. To be honest, I'm quite happy with most of the clubs doing well this season. Cardiff are perhaps the biggest club that haven't been in the Prem before, Watford fans always seem to be a good bunch, Palace have been through some tough times and Hull fans obviously love us and wish us the very best! Quite glad Boro are dropping off (they've had plenty of time in the Prem) - only problem is, it looks like Blackburn may replace them (yawn).
My fear is the teams that finsh 3rd & 4th. It could mean their form at the end of the season is not the best and if a team like blackburn are on a roll then I can see that team winnig the playoffs
As mentioned by someone on another thread Hopefully Blackburn's run in the FA Cup continues and they suffer in the league because of it
I can see Blackburn being low on motivation when they face us Tuesday. Just beaten Arsenal away at the Emirates, and now having to come to Hull on a Tuesday night.
That'll be an interesting game, from a neutral's perspective. Our game against Charlton likewise, might see if I can get back to Leicester and see it.
I think you'll smash Charlton. One of the poorest teams I've seen with no players whatsoever with any real quality. We could have had 5. For some reason I just think we'll nick another 1-0 against Blackburn but play ****.
Leicester 4 charlton 1 Hull 2 Blackburn 2 Though I will be at the KC cheering us on to a 6-0 win inside. Cardiff and watford to get thumped though till I look I don't even know if they play .
Think the league this season is far more open, the 3 teams that have come down aren't going to bounce back, making it the best opertunity for 3 completely new clubs to be promoted, think this season is the best chance for teams like us, Hull and Watford, even Palace have a crack at it!
I think Hull & Leicester have too much strength in depth. Suprised by Cardiff, they seem to have grinded out wins home and away. 9 goals conceded at home is a great effort and is promotion form. We lack a goalscorer as ever, we have chances after chance but no end product. Where as Leicester do, they have now Wood who is proven to score in this league. Although they seem to have hit there rough patch. we are 6 points clear, and yes you have 2 games in hand BUT you HAVE to win them. The pressure is on.
