Now I know this wont be everyone's cup of tea, but I find it more user friendly that messing around on the bbc website and updating the scores... Apologies to those that do not have or do not know how to use excel, but for those that do the attached may be something worth having a play around with. I had to pop it in a zip file as I was unable to attach excel (.xls) file types. You will need to enable macro's when you open the file. I must admit, before I completed the full run in I actually had us going down. After completing every result I got a nice surprise and had us in good old 17th position again Based on my predictions so far this season I have probably got loads of results wrong, but it has given me a little bit of hope. Hope it is of use to a few of you!
Great stuff Jammers and good skills, I mentioned that I have done it also with the head not the heart and prior to looking at the results I had us down in my own mind however the fact is that maths works for us. Of course if we don't win another game all season we go down. The interesting things is that some teams can still go down that we would never think of. Is there a current reason why we can't climb out of this of course there isn't. this is teh reason why i find it hard to agree with the many that we are already down. We are unbeaten yes its fragile but we are unbeaten since the 30th of December Bring it on
Welcome to The Mad club, Jammers. It is interestimg how our bad position looks in the bigger context.
RTID - sorry, was just how I left the file saved. I removed all my results but did not refresh the table I think I had us on 35 staying up on GD...I will do it again later and see if my opinion has changed!
Ah, got it. No worries. I finished the BBC predictor with us on 33 but I have left a couple of games as draws that we perhaps ought to win if we deserve to remain in PL eg Stoke at home and maybe Fulham or Southampton away. I think we should aim to beat Man U - the champions elect, since we managed to hold the champions to a draw. Light blue touch paper.......
1.5 points per game get you up to 37 which will, I reckon be close to survival. Looked at another way you need to get two more wins that three of Saints/Reading/Wigan/Villa or four more than Fulham/Newcastle or my lot. Looking at the list you have a number of key games including the one we drew on Saturday where you need to win - against Villa/Saints/Newcastle/Reading and Wigan. Win three and avoid defeat in the other two and you will be a long way to surviving. The edge QPR have over the others at the bottom is depth of squad and, I would argue, a bit more quality. If Redknap can get the team all pulling in the right directino you have a shot but you need to get some wins soon or you will not have the games left to acumulate enough to survive.
Agree. Lowest total for a surviving club in the PL seems to be 34, WBA in 2006. Not sure a club would deserve to stay on 30 points but having said that I would take it just this once!
Would I be correct that this won't open on an apple device. Or is it my technological ******edness kicking in again?
Sorry Nines, not 100% sure. I think the file is likely to open, but not sure if the macro (update button) I have in the file would work...we need someone with a mac/ipad to have a go so feel free to give it a whirl
Should open with that "iWork" app. If not certainly opens with either "Libre Office" which is free: http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/35446/libreoffice
