    At first I thought it was a poor idea, but it would make the "friendlies" mean more while retaining the freedom to experiment with players and formations. Will also give the smaller teams something to play for and encourage a few more to actually go for wins instead of going onto the field with damage limitation in mind.

    Although, with the best will in the world I'm not sure many could enjoy San Marino v Andorra.

    It could benefit us more going regularly up against the better European teams. Could also be a complete farce if clubs don't release their best players to participate, the way they do with friendlies now (or players feigning injury)

    Sounds like its been given the green light for 2018. Also places in the euros up for grabs apparently. I worry this may turn into a farce with countries not fielding the best players as SD says with "injuries" occurring or not released by clubs. I can see the list of 1 cap wonders growing.
