The fixtures are out. A couple of little factoids. Our last game is at home to Northampton. In 1980, when we were promoted from the Fourth Division, our last game was away to Northampton. Our opening game is at home to Dagenham & Redbridge, who finished 14th last season Our opening game in 1980 was away to Hartlepool, who finished just one spot away,13th, the previous season. Omens???????????
I was at that game at Northampton in 1980, great day out, so many POMPEY fans there for our promotion, I seem to recall the ground only had three sides to it, and lots of dubious cheers at alleged radio match report scores Still all worked out in the end.
I know when you're desperate any straw to grasp looks a good one but the opening post is a bit on the tenuous side isn't it? The last time we played Hartlepool on the last day of the season we lost out on goal difference for promotion despite winning 8 - 1 away.......gulp!! See you on the 15th then.

Any-one go to the Hawks game? I see on the OS that Pompey have now arranged a pre-season friendly against Coventry City on Tues 21st July, but the game is to be played at Westleigh Park rather than Fratton.
