IMO at least anyway. If ever there was a two day period that decided the title that was it. Arsenal and Chelsea both bottled it when expected to win and City cruise to victory when expected to drop points. I still think we will get 2nd and it's important to keep fighting in the league but I expect it to be done after Monday. Fancy us to win the Champions League though, just a hunch. If we can beat City's reserves in the cup we're looking good for that as well.
Wouldn't jump to conclusions just yet, and although unlikely we have every chance of winning on Monday. Do that and we're level on points.
Can't see it, not without Torres. He was a real handful for them at the Bridge. Positives are that Aguero looks to be out.
Just Toure, Fernandinho, Silva, Navas, Negredo, Zabaleta and Dzeko to deal with then I don't think we'll win, but we have every chance.
Even City can have a bad game, but if they do win then they'll stay in 1st position until the end of the season, which will be a bit boring
Personally , I think last night's shambles and its after effects, might be just the medicine we need to rattle City on Monday! If that happens, it could still be game on!
I wouldnt bet against city at this moment in time but if we can stay close to them and they have a wobble who knows
Anfield, Emirates, Old Trafford and Goodison. They have to go to all four, if they win them then they are worthy champions. Lets play Salah up top and counter attack, it could work.
Fully with you on that one DL. Mind you most of us on here did say that come Jan and Feb City would come strong. Last night was a case in point...Aguero has to be subbed. Most teams at this time of year with injuries and suspensions kicking in would struggle to replace their best player with one 50% as good. City bring on a £22 million player who would slot in to any team in Europe ! They wont win the Champs League imo but i can definitely see them create history with a domestic clean sweep. Still enjoying watching us progress and like The Happy One says next season watch us go !
At the start of the season most punters picked City to win, this despite Pellegrini having no history of PL football. So it must be because they had the best players. Now they are odds on. Recently a lot of talk about how the manager can "win" with a less good squad. I'll go with the best players 99% of the time.
It's far to tight at the top to say that it's done and dusted. We are more than capable of beating Man City at their patch.
Where's the evidence of that? we beat them already this season. Man City aren't invincible, they can be got at defensively and we have the best defense in the league. If teams like Cardiff and Watford can go there and score two then we are capable of that and more.
2009/10 2010/11 2011/12 2012/13 Since then they've got even better and have won every home game in the league.
Can't see us winning insufficient firepower up front (disappointed that wasn't rectified in the window) whereas City have it in abundance; we will do well to scratch a draw after shooting blanks at the Pikeys.
so you are against old adage - "An army of sheep led by a lion is better than an army of lions led by a sheep". with all due respect to Manny - I don't consider him a sheep yet, but won't take him as a lion until he deals with the business end, wins something.
O me of little faith. Like DL i was premature in writing us off earlier on this thread. I should have known better. What a fantastic performance from every one of the Lads and of course the Master Tactician Himself. I Shall now tuck in to a big slice of humble pie !!!
