Match Day Thread League Cup 2020/21

We have been drawn away against Brentford in the first round of the EFL Cup

 

Hopefully Gareth will take this as an opportunity to assess the strengths and weaknesses of Brentford and not worry too much about winning. The last thing we need is an early injury

 

The games are scheduled for the weekend of 5th September

 

We'll be the visitors for Brentford's first competitive game at their new stadium!

 

Which makes me think they'll play their best starting XI as they won't want to lose their first game in their new ground, i seem to remember us being killjoys by winning away at Huddersfield in their first match in their shiny new ground.

 

It will not be disaster to lose when you look at the September fixture list, just think if we had drawn Stevenage away & lost

 

This game KO is Sunday 6th September at 12 noon live on Sky Sports

 

So what we expecting most of the promotion side to start or a bit of mix and match with a few newcomers starting. COYB

 

I have no idea but will be interesting to see the line up & the subs bench & if we carry on playing the same way letting the opponents having the ball

 

I cant see us changing playing style when it's been so successful over the past few seasons, defend well and hit the feckers on the break that'll do me

 

Yep, if you can stop them scoring you have a good chance of getting all 3 points, 1 at worst

 

We have signed some quality players so I would be surprised if we don't see all of the new outfield players at some point in the game shame we are back to three subs as there will be a few disappointed ones

 

Am i the only one who doesn't really care about The League Cup this season? I'd rather we concentrate on staying in The Championship than have a cup run without any fans.

 

Maybe not but how much are the club getting for tomorrows game, with all the publicity we are getting at the moment, if we get through there would be a good chance on being on again

 

Anyone care to predict the score?

I'm saying 4-1 Brentford but hoping for a draw

I*m more interested in seeing some of our new signings to be honest

 

As a fully paid up member of the League Cup Appreciation Society who thinks it's the best competition ever (until round 2) I predict the score to be 3 - 1. I refuse to be drawn on which way round it will be.

 

2-2 then God knows on penalties- heard it here first

 

2-1 for me but who to ?

 

Apparently they have 8 players on international duty so that should help a bit 3 -2 wycombe
