Well this week turned into a demolition job by Chanin as he romped to victory scoring a massive 29.1, great score mate! Ron continued his long run in league 1 but found a few too good and was unable to make it 4 in a row! Now for the bad news......I've been struggling to find the time to do the results for a while now and I think that this week is going to have to be my last. Hopefully someone else will be willing to carry on this comp? Here's the standings for next week anyway: League 1 Chanin Percy BJM Ron Wooly Steve Hawkeye GGW Reebs League 2 Brough Oddy Sparky Wayward Red Ardent Dex EvilRedDevil And the results for week 21: League 1 total Chanin 29.1 Percy 12.2 BJM 10.9 Ron 7.6 Wooly 3.3 Steve 2.4 Brough 0 (place 4) Oddy 0 (place 2.2) Sparky NR League 2 Hawkeye 6.4 GGW 3.1 Reebs 0 (place 4.8) Wayward 0 (place 2.8) Red 0 (place 1.5) Ardent NR Dex NR EvilRedDevil NR
Here's the final averages: Name Average GGW 6.22 Galaxy 6.03 Ron 5.88 Dex 5.70 Red 5.68 Wooly 5.32 BJM 4.86 Joe Lively 4.70 Oddy 4.64 Jeff 4.54 Hawkeye 4.47 Brough 4.43 Reebs 4.33 Percy 4.27 Steve 4.20 Stick 4.17 Sparky 3.89 Wayward 3.83 Humans 3.70 Ardent 3.65 Chanin 3.46 EvilRed 2.68 Cyc 1.98 Special mention goes to Ron who completed a hattrick of wins, and GGW who posted the highest score with 31.7
That is bad news Percy but thanks for keeping it running; you've done a great job. Question is, do we have any takers?
Cheers Ron and sorry I couldn't keep it going for longer. Hopefully someone else will be able to take over.
Cheers Sir Percy and thanks for running the comp - appreciate the time it takes and you've put in a good shift. It's still seems a popular comp with plenty entering each week so I'm happy to take it on for a bit if nobody else steps up. However as I'm not that bothered with flat racing I'm probably only good for another 6 weeks or so. Surely between us we can keep this one going. I'd be happy to have another go at it when the jump racing returns in the Autumn.
Thanks for your efforts Percy I'd offer my own services too, but like Chanin - although for different reasons - the summer months will be difficult. I'm highly likely to be away on long weekends 4 weeks out of 5, with a limited internet access. However, lets not say never, and if Chan can cover the next 6 weeks say, then I may be able to pick up the mantle. It would almost certainly mean late results as I'd have to do all the marking when I got back from my jaunts - unlike the Aintree Tipping Comp, where I was doing it on the fly. And I'd probably look again at the way it is scored, but this comp IS popular and deserves to be preserved if possible
dont think I have the time at the weekends to do this but i can run some tipping competition during the week over the summer. I did a Craven Meeting competition last year which proved popular so i will put a thread up this afternoon for this again
Does anyone here have MS Access. If so we could share an app and pass the data around to keep it going.
Nice one hawkeye and the others who have offered their services! It sounds like the comp will still go on so thats great news. If you put the scores up as well then I should be able to keep the averages updated as that shouldn't take too much time. I must take my hat off to cyc who managed to singlehandedly keep this going for a year!
