Not sure if anybody else picked up on this (if so sorry), but long-time Charlton target Adam Le Fondre today signed for Reading FC. A surprising move considering his apparant reluctance to move down South due to 'homesickness', as well as the strong rumoured interest from Sheffield Wednesday and ourselves. I wish him all the best, as we Charlton fans know too well, its not easy for a League Two player to make the leap up the leagues (incidentally our old pal Izale Mcleod is currently top scorer in League Two on 5 goals). http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/r/rotherham_utd/9574224.stm
Incredible - never, ever thought he'd move South - IMO, that's going to be a greater challenge for him than moving up two divisions.
Less than £1m... moving to Reading... wonder if anyone spotted this earlier today... Was he ever really a Charlton target? He's been a Wednesday target since year dot, but I don't remember much 'official' speculation about him signing for Charlton - just lots of fans wanting it to be true
Just read the fee was 350k and can't really blame him for going to reading as they are in the championship and we are not at the moment
