Assuming Kenwyne is nailed for a start in one of the up front slots, who would you want alongside him?

Ole played all three of them for our only away so far at Blackburn and just about got away with it. I can't see him doing that again especially with Pilks available out wide now.

Who should get the nod to start? Where does Macheda and Guerra fit into all this?

ALF - nothing to do with me choosing him as our scorer for tomorrow of course. <whistle>

As an aside though, Guerra has impressed me in his cameo appearances. Can't comment on his scoring ability as he hasn't notched yet in the league, but his movement and ability to retain he ball and pass to his team mates seems better than the others.

Guerra has looked decent when he has come on while Le Fondre has not done much and Maynard has not been brilliant either despite his goal. In two of the three games Kenwynne has been substituted and this is when Macheda (if fit) should be introduced.

Le Fondre out of him or Maynard.

Maynard appears to have lost his sharpness, which is unsurprising given the injuries he has had.

Do you know that was his first goal in the league from open play (Hull away was a penalty) since he netted for west ham against City in the 2nd leg of the play off several seasons ago!

Guerra has looked good in the limited playing time he has had and TBH I thought he may have started v Wigan. Like to se him given a decent run out.

Macheda. I just hope he gets some game time soon, maybe at Port Vale but he was in decent form last season in this league so again if fit he should be possibly ahead of Maynard.

The problem with our strikers save Jones is that they are not getting the slide rule passes that eg Mcphail used to put on a plate for Chopra.

Adeyami looks the best bet to create those in place of Mutch, but Whittm should be able to thread something through on the deck surely?

    Le Fondre.

    Midfield needs sorting though.

Personally id play 1 up front but that isnt going to happen.

Id bring in Pilkinton for Gunnerson and leave out Maynard and play Ralls.

However I think we ill just see Pilkington for Daehli and probably Le Fondre for Maynard.

against someone like Wolves I'd play both. With their 4231 formation I think 2 players running in behind will cause them more problems than an aerial threat.

If it's only one of them, Le Fondre to start and Maynard off the bench.

3 strikers with 3 central midfielders could work.

The 2 playing off Jones will have to work hard though.

Would like to see Guerra start, a very classy player with a great first touch and able to bring in others around him. Le fondre for me though out of the 2 in the O/P.

What a fantastic problem to have though <ok>

I remember a time when it would be either Helguson or Helguson / Miller or Miller. <whistle>

Look here Eldon - those were the good old days!!.......<laugh>

I agree about Guerra - I don't think he was bought, nor did he expect to sit on the bench. I'd like to see him get some game time tomorrow and then get a start at Port Vale.

If we assume Ole will play 2 up (kenwyne + another) and he sticks Pilks out wide, who will be the other three in midfield? As it's an away game, it'd be Adeyemi, Whitts and maybe Dikgacoi (if fit) for me.

Unless of course Ole decides to change the system yet again and play 3 at the back with Fabs and Brayford giving the width. Starting with Pilks in that case would leave the midfield light unless he thought Adeyemi could play the holding role in front of the back 3 and leave Dikgacoi sit it out.

Just to keep the football chat going as well as the present politics at the club, any thoughts on that?

Can't see him going 3 at the back after a good back 4 defensive showing Tuesday. But then it is Ole, so.............

    No, a basic 4 4 2 or 4 5 1 with Maynard/ALF/Guerra helping out mid field.

The other mf 4 to be Pilks, Dikgacoi, Adeyemi and Whitts. Gunnar again if Dikgacoi still not fit.

I can't see Ralls getting a shout ahead of Whitts on the left. Ralls will get a chance to shine again at Port Vale.

I think the midfield will be Gunner , Whitts , Adeyemi , Pilkington.

Hilts - I think Gunnar's become a firm Ole favourite and you could be right for tomorrow. Dikgacoi might have to wait until Port Vale for a start.

I haven't seen too much of Maynard and what I saw of Le Fondre against Huddersfield didn't get me jumping out of my seat. I would plump for Maynard if that was the only choice. Guerra looks quality and I would like to see him and KWJ start.

Only seen Guerra in the two home games and not a lot of time but he looks better quality than any of the others.

Can't wait to see him in a full game.

Both Alf and Maynard have made picking guerra or Macheda with KWJ a lot easier today.
