Seems like the final hours of the transfer window is building up into a right old frenzy with Sky news reporting that City have now bid for Readings Adam le Fondre.

at the right price he'd be worth a punt. but in my opinion he'd be a punt and so anything above £4m tell them where to go......<ok>

Would have taken Le Fondre anytime ahead of McCormack. Mentioned him last season when he was out of favour at the time and confined to the bench at Reading. We were still in the Championship and I thought he could be the one to get us out of it.

As it was, we didn't need him, but he can stick the ball in the back of the net at any level and that's something we've clearly lacked so far this season.

Let's hope the addition of Jones and Zaha do the business instead. The gameplans will be as crucial as the players involved - Ole is the key to all this.

I dont think the business is good enough to keep us up.

However I am more than happy with our dealings - a spend of £3m and money recouped on Conway and Cornelius.

We didnt throw the cheque book at it.

I think we will go down - probably in bottom place but bounce back to get our Football League Championship title back.

Weve got some good young players who will improve and I believe next season will be far better whatever division we are in.

I honestly hought we would get a striker in last night, now we have to hope that KJ can help out FC, perhaps a 4-4-1-1
Lets see where we are at the end of this month hopefully starting with a win today.

I think we will go sort of 4 4 1 1 today with 3 players still in the middle.

Presume KTC is out so I reckon Marshall , McNaughton , Caulker , Turner , Fabio , Medel , Whitts , Mutch, Noone , Cambell , Jones.

    Cant see Zaha starting.

It would be just like Odem to have a blinder today and Stoke beat Man U. If Hughes proves to have made some bum moves this January I think they'll finish below us.

Another team that's got the haunted look to me is West Brom. They are going to struggle until May.

    Others?

Well Fulham have been diabolical all season, and despite the new guy's Man U contacts and experience, look a bottom 6 certainty along with Palace. Bruce has done very well at Hull first half of the season, but can't help feeling they'll drop down amongst the struggling pack.

I can't see any reason why Cardiff are destined to a bottom 3 finish at this stage. The final bottom 6 can finish in any order from those clubs and us. If West Ham can't improve under Sam and Poyet's Sunderland mini revival peters out, they could be in there at the death as well.

All to play for yet, and it really starts now. It would be a great boost for all the efforts if we can pull Norwich back into it today. <ok>

On Tuesday we were bottom but on equal points with 2 others and within a few points of a host more. We're now a poingt adrift and a win won't get us out of the bottom 3. We need to steadily gain points just to stay in the hunt. A loss today would be a big psychological blow as well as slipping us further into the mire.

Agreed remote, but we've just played Man City and Man Utd away for our last two games. If we'd had a different pair of fixtures, we could be well out of the bottom three.

The poor result against West Ham apart, we've just come through a horrendous January fixture list and I always thought we'd go into this one in bottom slot.

Like I said, it's what we do from now that matters. Ole has certainly changed things around in the short time he's been with us. He just needs to convert these recent better performances into wins like our two away FA Cup results at Newcastle and Boton.

The bottom half "mini league" will be far more important than the results of the past two games that has confined to our present position.

An average of one and a half points per game is needed to guarantee survival. What exactly have we signed? Kenwynne Jones who couldn't get into the side of fellow strugglers Stoke, Fabio who can't get a game and was relegated last year with QPR, Zaha who some say is a luxury player with a bad attitude who won't get out of the trenches if we are in trouble and a brace of Norwegians who, even the manager has said, are for the future. Other rivals have had a better transfer window so in some respects we are worse off now than when the window opened.

Of course some will say that we might need fewer than 40 points to stay up but if the club thinks like that we will be doomed to fail.

At present my glass is half full. Sorry to be so negative but I'm just being realisitc. Perhaps I'll feel differently with a win today but a loss will drive me deeper into the mire.
