Chelsea v Tottenham (1245 GMT) Tottenham have not won any of their last four league games and are clearly going through a bad run, although I have to say that they were the better team in the second half of their draw with Stoke on Wednesday, and should have won that game. Chelsea were stubborn in their defeat against Manchester City on the same night and, although they were ahead at one stage, they never really carried too much of a threat. Tottenham have not won at Stamford Bridge since the Premier League began in 1992 but what is in their favour on Saturday is the fact Chelsea have to go to Benfica on Tuesday in the Champions League. Blues boss Roberto di Matteo has a big call to make, because he has to decide whether he is going to focus on that tie. If he is thinking about Benfica, then he might leave one or two big names out against Spurs. The race is really on for third and fourth place now, but I cannot see Chelsea finishing above Arsenal or Tottenham. I think Spurs have got too many good players for them not to bounce back before the end of the season and, once they win a couple of games, their confidence will return again too. Prediction: 1-2 i hope all the chelsea players read that !!
He's entitled to his opinion but surely on form (recent and historical), a Spurs win is the third most likely outcome. I think it'll either be a draw or we'll nick it by one.
I haven't kept a tally but I'm going to guess, that his predictions very rarely hit the spot! This is a very encouraging omen for tomorrow!
http://www.myfootballfacts.com/Mark_Lawrensons_Predictions_2011-12.html There you go! Hes pretty poor! Has us (toon) down as 11th and Wolves 9th!!! Sure he had Wolves in top 5 around christmas time!
Why do you make the ****test comments acting like a pompus arsehole on every thread? Comment on topic or don't comment at all. Always some snide insult.
Fulham have contested a European Final more recently than Spuds. How is that 10 point gap working out for you?
Even I could make a better prediction than Lawro... Is there a match thread up tomorrow? I'll be here! Good luck Chelsea, hope you do the Spuds over.
It does not make things easier when we are still in all 3 competitions, playing loads more games than those teams above us, balancing team selections with one eye on the next game. Still, it can only be to our credit they we have done our best in all 3 and not put in weakened teams, as I'm sure others have done ( not necessarily those above us ) Tough game for sure, but sure we will give it all we,ve got. Good luck to all those selected ( even Ashley Cole )
CP--Thats been a quandary we've had to square up to every year since 2004! Nice problem to have! If you were Robbie would you pick the kids for the FA Cup and CL and keep the top squad primed for the PL? How should we prioritise? If I was Robbie (and I think this is how he thinks too) I'd take each game as it comes with the most suitable players selected for each game, irrespective of the games ahead! They are youngsters, in my opinion, and shouln't have to break a sweat to complete a maximum of 14 games in the next 7 weeks!
