Newcastle v Man Utd (2000 GMT)
In the end, Newcastle were beaten comfortably at Anfield on Friday, but that was only because of the impact Steven Gerrard had for Liverpool after coming off the bench.

And I think the Magpies will prove tricky for Manchester United, because they will have a real go up front. Demba Ba leaves for the Africa Cup of Nations soon but he is obviously a man in form and Manchester United are short of numbers at the back too.

There has been talk of Wayne Rooney and Sir Alex Ferguson having a fall-out before Saturday's shock defeat by Blackburn, but if that is the case then I would expect Rooney to return for this game with a point to prove.

Even if Rooney is back, and even if Newcastle don't play well, their work-rate and organisation in all areas means they are difficult to beat.

    Prediction: 1-1

So Lawro's predicted us to draw with Utd! Thats a turn up for the books!

I'm not sure this is entirely a good thing...

Guy doesn't have a clue, work rate seems to have dropped in recent weeks, need to get back to the work rate and effort that saw us go the first 11 league games unbeaten.

I agree with him. Man Utd are ****ed at the back and Ba is on form. I see no reason why we can't get a draw if not better.

I think we can get a result, especially at home. I'm worried now though because I'm never confident against the top sides...

Still cant believe Gerrard got MOTM on Friday, Bellamy won the game for them.

We have absolutely no chance if you ask me. Man United will be a wounded animal and were a soft touch all of a sudden. The crowd will be moaning as usual and blameing booing our own players within 15 minutes.

I really hope we don't play Hoofball like the first 60 minutes against Blackburn and against Liverpool. If we do, I can see us losing 2-0 :(

their defence is ****e, if Pards has any sense he will play Ben Arfa with Ba and we should get a good result. Colo and willo should be able to deal with Rooney.
the only thing im worried about is Ashely and Nani on the wings, hopefully Santon will be playing since hes miles better than Raylor at LB.
