Prediction of the season.... Reckons we'll give Man U a decent game.... Sunderland v Man Utd â Sunderland will push Manchester United hard, as they have done with every top team that have gone to the Stadium of Light. They beat Manchester City there after sitting in and making things difficult for them, so I can understand why Martin O'Neill was unhappy when City boss Roberto Mancini called this game "easy". But Sir Alex Ferguson will pick a team to win this match because he has to go for it to have a realistic chance of pipping City to the Premier League crown. And I do think United will have too much for the Black Cats, although it will be close. Will a win be enough for them to retain their title? Maybe not but the fact they might only miss out on goal difference shows they are not very far away and, like City, they could end up with 89 points, which is an outstanding haul. What do United need for next season? Well, with the Champions League in mind, they definitely need a playmaker. Paul Scholes has come back and done extremely well but he cannot go on forever. They also need a proper right-back and they will need another striker because I think they will let Dimitar Berbatov go and I don't know what is happening to Michael Owen. Nemanja Vidic will be back, which is a big plus and, in goal, David de Gea will be another year stronger and wiser. Prediction: 0-2
I honestly think it will be a draw. We will be battered and give a backs to the wall performance but will score at least one on the break, if I was a betting man I would say Mclean.
