Not one City player in the Championship Team Of The Week According to the Football League Website.... Lee Grant (Burnley) Alex Baptiste(Blackpool) Alex Pearce(Reading)Stephen McManus(Middlesborogh) Daniel Fox(Southampton) Chris Burke (Birmingham) Kevin Nolan (West Ham) Brian Stock(Donny) Danny Pugh (TWS) Michael Chopra (Ipswich) Andy Gray (Barnsley) Total joke... I wont be paying anymore attention to their site from now on !!!
I'd rather take all the plaudits at the end of the season then now. Let's just keep flying under the radar. We don't want any of the championship manager of the month rubbish and we don't want the players getting to complacent.
T H I S ^^^^^^^ totally agree. leave the back slapping to the others. but alas a few more wins and the tigers will be well into the spotlight and in full view on the radar. only 2 away losses in a year has gone almost unMentioned by many.
I doubt anyone will have played better in midfield than Robbie Koren. As for Andy Gray got a pen and a tap in didn't he? As others have said happy to ignore this clap trap anyway and concentrating on winning football matches hopefully with honours being handed out our way come May.
Surely your mate must have picked us up on his massive radar? If he can get American sports channels he must have picked up on our good form in his own country.
Good, we can stay under the radar without the hype! Though it is annoying when the same clubs receive all the coverage with their players getting all the publicity when really they don't always deserve it!
That is just a list of players who scored this weekend, Brian Stock could have had a ****e game but happened to score a goal, the same goes for Pugh. I did predit this on another thread the other day, these teams will always be full of players from fashionable teams. By that I mean the oens that everyone thinks are massive clubs like Leeds, Forest, etc. and the odd one or two who happen to be near the top like Southampton, Boro etc.
I think it's great! We're the invisible Tigers....we should just carry on and let the others wake up to what's really going on - when it's too late!
We could be top 2 in April and no one would probably notice us or see us as a serious threat! I'm fed up as well with our lack of coverage on the FLS, it's always the same teams who get picked for the main game, unless we're playing TWS, Cardiff, Southampton, Middlesborough or Leicester we won't be featured anytime soon!
Still'n'all - going by the thread on here - referring to the (Sky) courtcase - it would seem that pubs in Hull could maybe show games. That is, if they're being filmed? I assume they are, in order to get the highlights for late TV roundup.
Don't know when we're next on sky, not before December anyway as they've already chosen the live games (again with the usual suspects). I think the last time we were featured on the FLS was Scunny at home last season (less said about that the better!) I appreciate our games aren't goals galore, but Saturday for instance would have been a good game to feature (6th V 7th) but they decided not to. Our away games against Sheffield United, Pompey and Forest were ignored in favour of others which was rather annoying. I don't want the media in awe of the club like they are with some teams, but some recognition every now and then wouldn't go amiss!
Spot on again mate. Us V Cardiff should would have been a cracker to feature, 3 goals, theirs was a beauty as well, a penalty that nevers was, it had pretty much the job lot but 'HULL' as many refer to us as, never seem to get a look in. Sick of TWS always on Sky, featured games etc.
It's not just the lack of coverage that we are missing out on but the revenue from the games on sky. I'm sure sky pay additional 100k for live games which TWS seem to get on average 5 more a season than us which is 1/2 million we could use to build the squad. And they base these live games on past glories rather than current form.
This. If it was the genuine big sides like West Ham and Leicester it would make sense, but the likes of Forest and Leeds getting so much more coverage just because they used to be good at one point makes no sense. It has absolutely no bearing on how well they will perform now.
