Mate I know Luke Shaw is English, but how the **** can people value a young full back at 27million. Yet a striker people are saying is unplayable and scores goals in the PL at 15 - 20 million. I hope we tell them all to **** off unless they come up with 30 plus. I wonder how much they would be talking about if he was doing this for Southampton or the like. Taking the ****ing piss.

Looking at those goals again I wouldn't take £25 million for our Wilfie. And I mean it. He'll be even better next season and I say that knowing that everyone will be aware of what he's about. However, knowing about him and stopping him are two very different things.

Bony will have a proper preseason and be fully fit and raring to go from the off. Hopefully we will have added some decent quality to provide the service he needs and I'm backing him to score even more domestic goals than he did last season.

For me, it is essential we keep him, even build the team around him and I hope that Jenkins isn't going to decide to cash in on him. If Bony returns unscathed from Brazil, I can see his goals comfortably keeping us in the Premier League for us to get another bumper payout.

Meantime, Liverpool and the rest of them can stuff their derisory, insulting offers where the sun don't shine.

I wouldn't take less for hum than Luke Shaw - it's insane. If Shaw is 27million then Bony is at least 30million.

Simple. **** or get off the pot.

25 million is a lot of coin , pretty tempting really but even at that I hope Bony stays . So many things he's good at at all expects of the game . I don't think many really know how special a player he is .

British players are valued higher than others because teams want at least some british players, and getting genuine class locally is more expensive. A bit like fruit and vegetables

Don't sell him. Unless he's sold before the World Cup, don't sell him. We won't have much time to get a decent replacement, and as a result of being pressed for time and loaded with cash, we'll be swindled in the player market. Not to mention that, like Bony last season, whoever we get in won't have much of a pre-season and may take time to get going. I'm excited to see Wilfried Bony come back from the WC fit, get a few pre-season games under his belt and start the new season the way he left off at the end of the first.

The £15 million proposed in that article is utterly ludicrous!

Like others I feel the bidding starts at £30m.
It seems like the other Prem clubs and the English media aren't getting that we wont be pushed around.

He's come straight in and scored 1 in 2 in a struggling side for ****s sake.
Along the way he's shown he is a an excellent hold up man using his immense strength, a target man in the air, and has enough flair to unlock a defence with flicks, back heels and incisive through balls.....and he has a shot like a ****ing rocket.....and he is the coolest ****er on any pitch anywhere, his penalty kicks show that he has ice running through his veins.

Put him in a top team creating 10-20 goalscoring opportunities every game and he is going to score 30+.

This season he has proved he can score in Europe, in the Premier and rises to the big games (off the top of my head he's scored against; Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd, Valencia....)
we paid £12m and all we keep reading is that someone who wouldn't take the £12m punt on him will take him off our hands for £15-£20m <laugh>

    Some foreign strikers that have changed hands when the money floating around was a lot less;

Roque Santa Cruz - £17.5m....£25m when adjusted for inflation
    Edin Dzeko - £27m
    Dimitar Berbatov - £30m
    Andriy Shevchenko - £30m
    Robinho - £32.5m
    Andy Carroll - £35m

.....and the list goes on; http://www.caughtoffside.com/2014/0...remier-league-transfer-fees-in-todays-market/

Now go and check their Premier League pedigree before their big money move vs Bony's.

If Ivory Coast start Bony and have a good World Cup we will have a proven World Class performer on our hands.

As Boundy points out £15-20m is ****ing laughable, and I would add, insulting.

Agree with all the points made but I'd rather not talk about a figure. Bony's chance at a bigger club will come eventually but we should 'do a Suarez' at this precise moment and dig our heels in here. We don't need the money and Bony has signed his contract. Suarez was supposedly unhappy and on his way but Rodgers handled that brilliantly by telling him to get his head down because Liverpool were not selling. We should do the same. If Bony is half the man I think he is he'll buckle down and play for us.

My biggest concern is that our Board won't be able to resist a huge fee being offered but I firmly believe that money in the bank doesn't win you anything, goalscorers do.

The only top team he did not score against was Chelsea, well and Napoli I guess :p he scored against Man Utd, Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs, Everton. Everton was a cup game, along with Valencia :)

I feel if he does go this summer it's because the Board wanted him to rather than the player himself .He has proved more than his worth with us but maybe just maybe he feels he can give us one more season which will raise his stock further and look to returning the faith the club showed him .Wishful thinking possibly but why not be positive until proved otherwise .

I agree with the majority here and that we should do everything to keep him. I think the big money bid will come from the Gooners not the Scousers.

If Carroll's transfer fee is used as a yardstick,Bony must be worth £60-70 mill.
