Great piece in the Daily fail today, Bayram Tutumlu who is Laudrups agent and confidant is meeting in London, madrid and barca this week but the agenda is not about Laudrup, its been made clear that laudrup and his wife are very happy in swansea and they have settled into life very well with a great working relationship with the club and Huw Jenkins. Both Laudrup and Jenkins have agreed that a real recruitment drive is needed in the summer and while laudrup likes to under play his god like status in spain his agent is apparently constantly taking calls from players/agents that want to work with him in the premier league!

Laudrups agent is therefore now spearheading alot of our football buisness in spain and is acting as the go between, the Negredo deal is a real possibilty and its purely down to Laudrups pull. The article goes onto mention that some of his signings were offered double the money to move elsewhere but only wanted to go to Swansea and Laudrup, laudrups agent is a very influential figure in the high level buisness world of sport and football and it is a real possibility that the Swans will see a couple of top level spanish players arrive in the summer.

The article makes a point of mentioning how hppy Laudrup and his wife are in Swansea, it also states that Laudrup has absolutley no intention of going anywhere and beleives he can break the ceiling level that the smaller clubs have in the prem league.

It is a very nice and positive article from the Mail, which makes a change! the club are prepared to spend and are prepared to replace the likes of Ash in the summer if needs be.

This could be a great thing for Swansea IMO. We need top level influential people fighting our corner and for the first time in History we ay have that. Its going to be very intresting to see what happens, the club and chairman feel the time is right to invest in the team so we may well see the transfer record broken for the 4th consecitive season!

Plenty of positives to think about people, the players have been on the beach since Newcastle but i get the feeling there may be a few shocks in the summer!

    A must read article...

"In comparison to some Barclays Premier League managers, Laudrup is not well paid but he and his wife Siw have taken to their life in Wales and are thankful to Huw Jenkins for making it easy to adapt to a new home and a new club."

Hang on, isn't that what Brendan said.

Its important to remember that the hard work will start in the summer. Laudrup hit the ground running last season and losing 4 front line players was always going to make things difficult, credit must be given to Laudrup for getting the early part of the season spot on, when the fixture list came out i thought we needed to be safe by mid April or earlier! the fixture list IMO was designed to relegate the Swans this season, i dont think its on the agenda to have small well run football clubs in the circus of the premier league,it makes a mockery of the whole thing when little old swansea are out passing the superstar clubs ! when the likes of van persie go on camara and say that"he loves how swansea play" "they play like a dream" etc,etc then its makes people take note doesnt it?

Anyway, ive moved off the point a bit 1..<laugh>

Time will tell of course but i think there is alot more to be positive about, we are not playing terrible we are just facing teams with more desire. Next season is going to be massive and it is maybe understandable that players are easing off the Gas knowing that pre-season will be starting much sooner ,this is a point not mentioned by many people but i beleive it to be a factor in our 85% performance levels.

If Laudrup and his agent can keep using their connections then thats got to be good news for the Swans, Laudrup has learnt more in these last 5 games than probably the last 20! this is an important lesson for Laudrup too and part of his learning curve.

Things look like they are in hand at the Swans, behind the scenes things seem to be running smooth and planning is already going on.

Difference being that Brenden was directly quoted as saying swansea is a beautiful part of the world and he can see himself walking along the promanade when he was old...only to **** off when the first offer came in!..<laugh>

Laudrup has not said any of this, just that he is happy in swansea.

Dont try and derail the thread with complete bollocks aswan, lets keep a positive vibe going for longer than 3 posts ..... <ok>

Just reading through other threads and only yesterday I was saying how I believe ML has a plan for next season. This seems born out by this article, further by the fact his agent is such a big player in football business and looking at making some truly exceptional signings for us which I didn't know. Yesterday I was smiling, today I'm pretty much making sticky mess in my pants! Negredo would outstanding in the white of the boys down the Liberty!

    In the viKING we trust!

I think what may important this year is and will hopefully be, that our manager wont be leaving and will probably have an inclin as to who will be leaving, who will be staying and who he wants to get rid of. So for once the planning can start early and that will be a big plus for us. something that hasnt really happened for the last few seasons.

Great post, Norway, and very heartening. We all hoped that Laudrup's huge reputation would benefit us player-wise and that article is music to our ears - well, to most of us anyway.

I just hope that the players find some form, or rather, make some effort to bring a smile to his face. He is an honest man who is trying his best for our club and doesn't deserve dishonest performances from his squad. Anyone, and I do mean anyone, who can't be bothered to deliver that for Laudrup and us, has no place at our club.

Anyway, great news!! Onwards and upwards.

Lib that is what i am saying. All the plannig for new players over the last few seasons have always been late, due to managers leaving, play off final. For once our manager will still be here at the end of the season so we can actually go for his targets, rather than trying to get the left overs. Mind you if Michu and Chico were left overs, lets have some more.

So 2 negative comments on the whole thread .

1 from Aswan, who really should just stick to being Mr gulible and 1 from Daiswan.. kind of sums up what i think about the way these guys contribute, neither make any real insightful or constructive comments .

A real shame that even a heart warning article about Laudrup and his connections in the game helping Swansea city is met with ridicule on here.

Anyway, as football fans we bounce from high to low and thats the way it should be, thats what its all about, how boring to always look at the dark side of life, alot of swans fans probably feel hurt that Martinez and Brenden left, i know i was but we are allowed to still be proud of the new guy..and the guy after him, its what us fans do, allow the club to take us from tears to glory and back again !!

Im really happy that Laudrup seems to want to give us that extra year and im really happy his advisor is in our corner wheeling and dealing, everyone is fighting for a common goal.

Laudrup having success=his agent getting him the big pay day and right club later on= Success for Swansea.

His agent using influence to get the right players by using Laudrup as the carrot= a good standard of player who can hopefully improve us= Success for Swansea

All of these things are tied together so the club, laudrup and his agent all have a vested intrest in the Swans doing well, surely that is something to be thankful for ? if it wasnt for Laudrup signing Michu,JDG,chico, pablo and Ki then the swans would probably have been relegated, i dont think there are many guys out there that would have pulled off better signings for such low money!!

All this has been lost in the fog of the last 5 games, people forget Brenden was sussed out last season and would not of had a chance of signing the same quality if he had stayed...we got lucky i think and im happy that the club look like they are in safe hands, its no laudrup love in its just a respect thing, lets give credit where its due and be happy that the club have so much going for it <ok>

    ....<laugh>

I think most Swans fans think the same Dragon, in the cold light of day i think we all realise its been a tough few games and while i feel the comments of being "on the beach" are totally spot on i also think its something we as a club will learn from.

The management will have learnt alot more from the defeats than the Victories, this is very important IMO. Laudrup has won almost everthing as a player and knows about what is required to perform consistantly at a high level.

I cant help but think that this seasons fixtures were designed to send us down, im not sure who else gets to player the top5 clubs within a month of each other sandwiched inbetween teams that were always fancied for relegation(like ourselves)
Seems we were to be the cannon fodder for the big teams run in, something to make the last games alot more intresting, i think our club and players knew they had to be safe by the begining of April and it wouldnt suprise me if this was the real target, hence some players mentally slipping off their games :)
