Swans boss looks ahead to crucial period Michael Laudrup insists his players need to adopt a âcup finalâ mentality as they begin a crucial run of fixtures in the Premier League. The Swans have won just once in their last ten league games and host fellow strugglers Fulham to the Liberty on Tuesday (7.45pm). The visitors sit just one point and one place above the drop zone and will be looking to avenge the 2-1 defeat at the hands of Swansea back in November. Laudrupâs men now face five of the leagueâs current bottom half in their next six league games, and the Swans boss reiterated the importance of the coming weeks. âThe next four games are crucial, starting against Fulham,â he said. âWe are coming up against direct opponents in the table and throw in the games against Liverpool and Crystal Palace and it is a very important period. âBut we have to go into each game as if they are a final. I hope our wins in the cup, against both Manchester United and Birmingham, can also give us something. âOne thing Iâve said to the players is that Iâm impressed with their confidence on the ball - we have to play our way and do what weâre best at. âBut thatâs why I hope the second half reaction at Birmingham could help us in these coming games.â - Laudrup/Swans Official site I really hope our boys treat this Fulham game as a cup final, and take the momentum from the Birmingham game!.............
Too frightened to look me !! I hope and prey we can get something from the game, n gog to come on and score to make it 3-1 Swans...i hope !
Games now that we do need to win ,something we're not used to, is having the threat of relegation hanging over us , now is the time for us, the supporters to show the players what the club means to us .COYS.we will prevail
I won't put any pressure or think about panic or not till after the last game before Napoli , then I'll definitely draw a conclusion one way or another. I think we'll see a very special performance from the team tomorrow but If I don't , I won't be throwing in the towel.
Well it's a foregone conclusion... over on Lawro's predictions on BBC Sport "badminton star Gail Emms" states - Gail's prediction: Wilfred Bony has hit form recently and Fulham have leaked goals all season, Swansea have been playing well without picking up too many results. They need to start winning and Fulham are the perfect club to play to start a good run going. 4-1 Smart lady I'm also going for a Swans win but a 1 - 0 will do me!
This is laudrups most important game to date and he wants to show the same mentality as the brum game..!!!!!!..Please michael we need a hell of a lot more than that mentality than that for gods sake. Fulham are no pushovers like brum was suppose to be and they could have won that if they had taken their chances....We need a lot more effort for the WHOLE game not just half a game and start to show some leadership and enthusiasm during the game and perhaps the players will respond and we will win comfortable for once....Don't take fulham for granted like the last time we were suppose to beat them or we could end up losing again....Its a team effort and you are suppose to be part of the team as a leader so show it...
Is this the same Fulham that could only manage a replay at the weekend. Have some faith and back the ****ing side Dai.
Did you see the Birmingham game Dai ?, as poor as we were we could have won that game by a much bigger margin if our players were a bit more composed in front of goal .
Im backing the side as i always do i dont trust the manager to do his job properly so what are you on about valley...Explain.
Like you say Dai, it's a team effort, for me that includes starting eleven, subs and rest of the squad + Laudrup and his entire back room staff
The managers job is to implement tactics using the right players at the right time not bouncing up and down on the sideline. If I was a player I'd giving my all regardless, for self pride and competitiveness! I think the fans shouting and chanting the team on plays a bigger part.
That's an issue Cwm, we need the North bank to sort themselves out, they are our choir boys, and they have been far too quiet of late, we need a major concert from them on Tuesday!...............
Win against Cottagers tomorrow and we could go possibly go 6 points clear of 18th position and up to 10th! Nice!
He claims he did despite the fact that I know of no one who could find a stream. Leads me to one conclusion.......
The same as mine I'm sure , I did go to the game so if he wants any questions answering I'm sure I can accommodate him
