They aren't in the CL lads. Spurs also paid £26 million for Soldado last year and Bony is worth more than him<ok>

Bony isn't worth more than £ 26 million. He's way too old and not iconic enough. Swansea will renew his contract this season, probably with a realistic release clause fx £15-18 million with a hefty pay-rise.
This will keep Bony happy at the club and make it possible for him to make a move to a CL-club; to be second/third striker. When his career peaks.
At earliest he'll leave next summer, but not for the kind of money in mention...

Would love him to stay and we need to make sure that happens. He's only 25...we can squeeze another season out of him before he moves on to play with the big boys. Interesting that both of our strikers (Bony and Gomis) are both fluent French speakers. Hope this can help them work together better and bamboozle defences even more!

One thing is for sure, Laudrup will not be buying Bony.

Sorry Mikra but your having a laugh there. Bony is top class and scored 20+ goals last season. Strikers like him come with a premium.

Totally agree with this. 25 is not too old he is in his prime proven Premier League goal scorer; has played on the big stage in the World Cup and Europe. If taht doesn't demand a premium I dont know what does. As for him goimg to Qatar never going to happen. This is the same 'Paper Talk' story from last week on the news rumour websites, which as I have said before is al labout Laudrup being interested in him and nothing being reciprocated by Bony or his agent.
IF he does go before the end of next month it will be to a CL team otherwise he will be staying.

Some report came out during the world cup stating that the apparent peak age for a footballer is 27. I was gutted because it means I'm well past it now, but Bony is still to improve if this is true.

Given that players play well into their 30s I'd have though 28-29 is their peak now.

Unless a champions League team comes in for him I am confident he will stay but if he starts scoring freely then he may go in January. As for joining Laudrup in Quatar. I have more chance and I'm 68 with athritic knees and two left feet.

Won't happen. Typical lazy journalism that's become far too easy to spot.

I concur, no way will Bony be going to any football back water, and I predict he will be with us for the start of the season, unless Spurs stump up £25 Million, which Levy will not!…………….<ok>

Has Garry Monk achieved something Laudrup couldn't? The signing of Siggy? who says Garry Monk cannot attract players <laugh>

If he starts banging them in early, he'll be gone in January.

We don't have to sell anyone because we are so stable and well run, so the price on his head will reflect how much he's worth to us and not any market price. £25-30m I reccon

If that's true we'd still have Vorm, Davies, Pablo and Michu in training tomorrow.
As for Bony being worth £27 million, have a rest, we valued one of the best left backs in the pRem at one Siggy so on that thinking Huw must be hoping to swap Bony for an Aspas.

You cannot compare Bens value to Bony's value. Pablo and Michu WANTED out and therefore we HAD to sell/loan. Maybe Ben and Vorm wanted to go too. Vorm probably for a big payday and Ben because he has aspirations to be at the best clubs in the world.
As for Aspas, Huw has refused to sign him once <ok>

Really? Did Laudrup make an effort to sign Siggy then? I wasn't aware he did but, if he did, he wouldn't have included Ben in any deal.

Because he was one of Laudrup's main targets and he was pissed we didn't/wouldn't sign him.

Not so,Liverpool were prepared to pay more for him. Why are you still trying to undermine Laudrup? Time to let him go,
