Hughes sounds keen, let him ruin them! If martinez turned down Liverpool then everton is not likely. Laudrup will be in europe with the team he built. I don't see him being too keen either (or at least I hope!)

I can't see Laudrup going to Goodison Park, such a small club, with very little in the way of spending power! with Wigan pretty much relegated, could be an option for Slick Willy from Santander!.........................<cheers>

Mind, Laudrup could get the job at Everton, with the reference Dai will give him!...........<laugh>

I honestly think that Martinez is the best bet.

His problem with us, and with Wigan, is his difficulty with engendering a secure defensive foundation to a team's play. I say that, but we weren't terrible defensively with him. We just needed that bit more that Sousa could bring in that aspect.

Well, with Everton he will have that base and can build the passing etc on top of that. Probably of the better jobs in the league that is probably the one best set up for him to succeed.

I think he turned down Liverpool, or so people have mentioned, because of the lack of control he would have had - as a club, I don't think Everton are set up that way.

So I do think Everton would be a good fit.

P.S. I think I've worked out why Whelan always seems to be raving about him and has even said that Everton aren't a big enough club for him, implying he should go straight to Man U or Real Madrid... inflate Martinez's ego to the point that he thinks he can do better than Liverpool etc and he walks away from a club thinking to himself he's king of the world. Of course, Dave Whelan sits and cackles to himself knowing Real Madrid, Barcelona and Man U would hardly be interested in a manager, working on a shoestring at a club always struggling against relegation (and this year possibly failing). Doff of the cap to Mr.Whelan, game well played. Cost us Rodgers - it better not bloody cost us Laudrup as well.

Laudrup would be mad IMO.I thought Lambert was when he went to Villa. It hasn't exactly worked out well for Rodgers either. There is a lot to be said for being a big fish in a small pond.

Think Lambert and Rodgers have both done okay once settling in past Christmas.

Nothing to worry about here, no way is he off there. What is the point of leaving his project to go to Everton ? who lets be honest have no real money to buy the like of Michu,Chio etc etc so Laudrup would yet again be starting from scratch only with a lot more pressure , whick is something he doesn't need

He and his wife are very settled on the Gower and I think there is no reason to go anywhere else in the UK, I believe he will go perhaps next season but it will be to Spain or the National team..or just a break from football.

Martinez will jump onto anything if Wigan are relegated because he knows he doesn't have the tools to gain promotion from the championship, one of the reasons why he left us IMO.

Michu wouldn't go to Everton IMO.

Also, why must the media go straight to our manager and Martinez? When it comes to transfers they never seem to bother really looking in to the possibilities of who we are bringing in, but if they are to be believed our entire team is constantly being sold off!

Complete bollocks, and I hope Laudrup stays.

I think it's more wishful thinking on the BBC's part, regarding Laudrup! The odds don't stack up to their gossip column............<laugh>

    Neil Lennon 6/4

    Roberto Martínez 7/4

    Phil Neville 5/1

    Vitor Pereira 7/1

    Duncan Ferguson 10/1

    Steve Clarke 10/1

    Michael Laudrup 12/1

    Malky Mackay 12/1

    Martin O'Neill 16/1

    Mark Hughes 16/1

    Gus Poyet 18/1

    Care of Ladbrokes.................<cheers>

Without going through it all, how many of those are without clubs ? Can't see them paying to get a manager

Knowing the Everton thinking (Bill Kenwright ), Malky Mackay would be the final choice in my view, though I know Martinez is the front runner at the moment, but after the interviews, I'll put money on Mackay getting the job, or possible Neil Lennon! .......<cheers>

PS: Sure put a spoke in our illustrious neighbors up the road!..........<laugh>
