    Ian Hooloway <laugh>

Why would he leave a club just outside the play offs, to join rock bottom 1p5wich?
Plus Thamos Ince has more talent than the entire ITFC squad <doh>

I can think of one happy Hon. Canary if this goes through. Probably beside himself with anticipation as we speak! <ok>

However you view things, it makes more sense than Curbishley or Shearer, who had both been mentioned in dispatches !

    WOW He's been linked...!

The bookies are making McCarthy red hot favourite for the job and besides I've got £100 on at 20/1 which I put on in the summer!

No wonder you've been shouting for him, nothing to do with suitability, it's all mercenary!

I get the best of both worlds! The manager I feel we desperately need and I get a nice little drink out of it! A WIN WIN!

warky, i like mick as a bloke, i find him quite funny in a droll way, but are you not bothered that you're appointing another manager who has become accustomed to losing football matches in recent times rather than winning them? his record with wolves last season and even the year before was atrocious. is he a motivator? he couldn't even get his team up for a must-win on the final day of a season not so long ago. ok it was a different league and his championship record is good but winning is a habit. that's why i would have said someone fresh, someone from lower down the divisions who has the winning habit and has new methods would have been much better than another 'old school' man. seems like another poor appointment to me, though i do think you could have done much worse judging by some of the names being bandied around. i think your owner had to appoint a 'bigger' name, otherwise he loses the regular media attention and advertising for his name.

Hope it comes in for you. Kudos to you for your foresight if it does. shame you can't do a similar trick with lottery balls then you could buy Evans out and take Ipswich onward and upward rather than on their current death spiral downward.

I don't agree with your analysis Supers. Given where we are in the league and the absolute shocking situation that exists in the dressing room we need a big character to come in and sort out these prima-donnas! He will command respect from this rabble and he will not tolerate the "Billy Big Bollox" culture that currently prevails at our club. You either give him 100% or your out and that's what I really like about him. All this nonsense about his style of play is irrelevant. We need this no nonense style and his tactical and organisational skills will come to the fore. We have to start winning football matches and out of all the candiates being bandied around MM is best placed to deliver. In the long term his credentials in this league are up there with the best in regards to getting teams promoted. Interestingly there are many Wolves fans who are still in admiration for what he achieved for them and were gutted when he parted company. I will be delighted if his appointment is confirmed in the next couple of days.

fair enough. i don't get people who say he is a hoof merchant. i've never seen the evidence of this. yes his teams are direct but they still pass the ball, they use wingers and get the ball forward quickly. hardly hoofball! agree about his attitude - that should help your dressing room - totally different way of managing to the previous incumbent, just not convinced myself that he's any different in terms of ability to jewell. time will tell. i suspect you'll be on the lookout for another manager in 12-24 months time.

also, his last derby defeat was a 1-5 home reverse against the baggies. he'll fit in well at the portaloo with scorelines like that! <laugh>

'Arry has just ruled himself out of the Blackburn vacancy but has also refused to rule out taking charge of a Championship club if something interesting came along... Kevin Bond was at Portman Road on Saturday... Nah!

i'm guessing he wouldn't want the blackburn job because a) the travelling and b) their owners are maniacs. can't believe he was linked in the first place!! but reason a) is the reason he won't join ipswich either. well, that and the fact you're bottom! <ok>

seriously though, what the hell is going on with rovers? how are those muppets still in charge?!?!

TBH Supers I wouldn't want the Redknapp circus any way! <ok>

What I do know is that Redknapp is advising Evans and going on his last bit of advice I wouldn't listen to a bloody word he says! <yikes>
