Waddo, Also through a good source just found out that SWP is off to Bolton.. chose between QPR,Stoke and Wanderers... well I never did. And, Sgt's posted on another thread.. Stoke to make a double bid for Jerome/Liam Ridgewell, apparently this was going to happen a month back, some hitch but now if I hear correctly. It's happening Wednesday.... How much ?? I don't know Waddo. Personally it looks like we're having 2nd/3rd choice player's... thoughts?
Potts we all suspected that it would be D day panic buys just like other seasons gone by. With the amounts of money being thrown around we should be getting this transfer market sorted by now. I blame greedy agents to be honest telling their players to hold out until the 11th to get the best deal possible! This is why i firmly believe we should forget the prima donnas and go looking for that young fresh next best superstar! I wonder how much Johnny Walters would be worth this season now?
Potts, like you I`m totally frustrated,it`s loooking like when he panicked and bought Tonge,Soars,Davies and Sonko.I`d much soonerhave done business gradually through the window than this lottery we`ve got now.Nobody will tell me that this is the way to do business properly ! That`s why we`ve got players well past their sell-by date.
If we had a proper or better scouting system in place like Arsenal, man u or even Wigan we could be bringing in this lesser known players turning them into top quality prem players then selling them on for millions to make the money to make the squad stronger. Now that to me is proper business sense not paying over the odds for has been players and then selling them at a loss mentioning no names!
Agree with all of those comments guys I would much prefer we went for an unknown/lesser known lower division striker/midfiled player personally. Like you said Waddo, they are out there and if clubs like Wigan, are looking abroad. eg the winger they signed today. Why can't T.P. do it? I don't want Jerome to be honest...but, if he's the only player interested.. may as well take a punt I suppose. How I wish I was still at work, night shift and wouldn't be reading numerous reports. I hate this transfer window. Walter's? Waddo I suppose as with ANY player he's worth as much as any named club will pay. A guess right now... at least 6/8 million going on his performaces... I have to disagree with you on this one, he is awful, no other prem team wants him (which says it all) and TP will probably end up chucking 5 mill at him - disgrace! Also, how can we justify paying this type of player at the top end of our wage structure when we have truned others away!
am i the only one who thinks crouchy would be worth 10mil. He's proven and doesn't dip in form like jones - well worth it, and he's the only striker who i think should be in the england squad everytime
