These comments about academy player of the year Thorsteinsson are the latest to wind up people on TWTD. Thorsteinsson received his gong at last weekâs End of Season Dinner but Jewell thought he was far from the youngest looking award winner: âWhen he went up there on Tuesday I thought Cressy had won the Academy Player of the Year because Cressy looks younger than him! âHeâs done well, heâs a terrific professional. He lives, eats and breathes football. Heâs one where you think âget a life, you boring bastard!â. âI had a word with him because you can get too intense. He wants it so much, he trains hard, heâs got a fantastic attitude. Thoughts?
just reading the comments and it seems Jewell really doesn't have many supporters. This is interesting: "I heard he told bennett the same thing and its one of the reasons he is leaving"
David Brent man management at its best! perhaps he should go for a night out in newcastle with chops and JB!
having not heard the full interview (and I dont trust twtd) I dont know what context this was said in but it sounds like the kind of joke everyone of us has used in the past, especially when linked with the baby face Cresswell comment. . It comes across as a kind of married to the job comment and maybe he had a word to say 'carry on like this and you could harm yourself'. Again a comment that I think could be applied to someone we all know. Maybe I'm wrong but I dont see anything in that conversation to throw toys out of the pram over.
I just love that bit when Brent calls them all over to tell them that there will be redundancies and then goes onto say "The positive news is that I have been awarded a promotion and a pay rise". Welcome the the Simon Clegg school of management!
trctorbhoy Interesting perspective, may i throw a differing view on it? Actually don't think i will as it may upset some on here, i shall just say that i feel it was not funny if meant as a joke!
Another one bites the dust! http://www.twtd.co.uk/news.php?storyid=20706&title=jewell:_murphy_deal_beyond_town
I think the Murphy one could be an opening line to tell him/ celtic that we want him but they will have to be sensible about their demands. Seems a very 'fabregas/ ronaldo' start of transfer type story. Think he can do a job for us but isnt anyhting special so dont care if Im right or wrong.
