Head coach ahead of tomorrow's fixture announcement. Sean OâDriscoll believes opposition teams will âraise their gameâ on visits to Ashton Gate in the forthcoming campaign. As the head coach prepares to sift through his teamâs fixture list for the 2013/14 campaign â unveiled tomorrow (Wednesday) at 9am â he began to look ahead to the challenge that awaits his troops in League One. OâDriscoll highlighted Wolves as the stand out team who will be expected to go straight back up to the Championship, but he believes Peterborough United have a far better chance. Speaking to bcfc.co.uk, the Midlander said: âThe Championship was very competitive from top to bottom and there was very little between the sides. âIn League One itâll become a little easier in some respects, but a little harder in others. What I mean by that is when teams come to Ashton Gate Iâm sure they will raise their game, as they will going to Wolves. âWolves have to get promoted. Theyâve come down from the Premier League to League One in two seasons; theyâre still getting parachute money. They will be expected to go straight back up. âHowever, if you look at the three teams who came down from the Championship, Peterborough are probably more ready to play at this level than ourselves and Wolves. âWhen you look at the results they had at the end of last season, youâd say Peterborough were unlucky to go down and itâs almost in their DNA â theyâve got a way of playing that has got them promoted from League One twice before. âIt took nine seasons for this club to get promoted back to the second tier last time around. Obviously we donât want that to be the case again; we want to bounce back stronger. âWe have to find a way â like I said when we walked through the door â for the team to be successful and play in a way that excites the supporters. But thatâs regardless of what division weâre in; Iâd be saying the same if we were still in the Championship. âWeâve said a lot of things and tried to be consistent. People will now judge us for what happens, rather than give us the benefit of doubt, which is fair enough.â I would have said he's got that right.
This time teams are going to tremble when they have to play at Ashton Gate, league one will be easier but harder,âWeâve said a lot of things and tried to be consistent. People will now judge us for what happens, rather than give us the benefit of doubt, which is fair enough.â SOD's double talk continues to amuse me, roll on the season... http://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/article/20130618-sodfixtures-870893.aspx
I'm frankly underwhelmed and confused by his continual mixed messages. Is it just a case of saying it's either A or it's B, because any fool can do that ad nauseum
