...discussing everything that's been shown as bad during this summer's transfer window: http://www.not606.com/entry.php/2689-The-Transfer-Window-Time-to-kill-the-beast
Interesting read mate. So often, in all walks of life, what seems like a good idea isn't properly thought through and gets corrupted by the greedy. I don't seeing it being dumped yet though. But if it was just think of the angst we would suffer all season long and what, critically, would Jim White do?
Scrap the window? That's far too sensible. The whole thing has become a media-driven circus all feeding off each others backs. The agents feed a few hints and the frenzy begins. It's not just football, everything is bounced around the media, the latest tweets 'trending' and it's wall-to-wall media coverage and the 'sharks' converge for their feed before moving on to the next 'victim'. Football is now such a massive business at the top level that it no longer relates to those of us who fell in love with the game in the 60s and 70s, those of us fortunate to have been there in 1967 and 75-76 should treasure those memories, sadly, we won't see their like again...
