I wonder why Brian Purcell is not yet on the wall. He died in a car crash with Roy Evans, who is included in the latest additions. Brian was a stalwart defender, and made 165 appearances, per wiki.
Lots of worthy additions yet to be made , hopefully and to be honest to date imo it hasn't happened ,names are added which do not devalue the principle of whats trying to be recorded .
Take your point,Matthew. Evans and Purcell were team mates, and died in the same car crash. I don't think including him, alongside Evans, would devalue the wall in any way. Perhaps he will be included in the future.
What's the criteria? Are we listing anyone who has ever played for us? Who decides? Will Michu make the list? Scott Sinclair who almost single handedly got us promoted? Not being a grouch but it seems pretty arbitrary and you're always going to have debate about omissions.
As in all things football , it's a matter of opinions Phil Sumbler, said the supporters' trust had got together and come up with a simple criterion for being included. "It doesn't matter how many games they've played, how many goals they've scored, it's just really people who we believe have played a big part in shaping the hundred years of Swansea City," he said. "What we're going to do is enter 10 at every awards' dinner until we get to 100."
Britton , Williams , Rangel and Dyer are already on my wall . League 1 through till becoming first team veterans in the Premier , these Swansea "Gems " were penciled in most games during the rise to fame .( Dyer started in the Championship )
Haha , I remember Dyer and that swan dive guy coming to his rescue in the corner .when Pintado was swarmed
Shefti Kuqi was a great guy off the field, quietly spoken and very polite but on the field of play as well as being a pretty poor footballer he had quite a nasty streak. Remember him hauling an opposition player up off the ground by his shirt at the Liberty when he could see he was play acting.
So when they reach 100 it stops? Hmmm..... It's only my opinion but it's a waste of time. This sort of thing divides fans on who should and should not be included and it devalues the contribution of the unsung heroes or personal favourites fans may have had over the years who wouldn't make this list but all who contributed to the Club and the enjoyment of the fans. It also excludes our stars of the future if it stops at 100. What's the point of it? Now I am sounding like a grouch.
No you have to have played a certain number of games and a certain number of seasons. mich chico wont be considered as legends...
