Nah, home advantage is going to play a big part. Sirotkin is guaranteed to win. Although you need Hamilton on the podium to acknowledge the best crowd.
I'm hoping the long run to the first corner might lead to contact between Mercedes and Ferrari. With the Red Bulls at the back and out of contention, it might be a rare opportunity for a driver outside the top 6 to make the podium
Hamilton rampant the mo. Vettel looks beaten. Hamilton to win every race until the championship is sewn up, and then drop off as always.
Dunno, Vettel is quicker in sector 1 which has the longest straight with slight gradual bend which you can still generate some good top speed. Sector two and three is where there are more twist and bends and with the new aero upgrade Mercs has brought to Sochi seems to be giving them much more grip than Ferrari . Over a lap the W09 looks the car to beat but Ferrari still very fast on straights.
well that first corner is now crucial. the Ferrari advantage has vanished and if hamilton stays ahead imo Merc won't even need to stab bottas in the back here. Merc to won by 30 seconds imo
If tyres are going to play a big part thrn i doubt Bottas will beat Hamilton. Hamilton has been much strong preserving life on his tyres than Bottas, His tyres seem to fall away quickly and Hamilton has been 2/10 quicker in the first sector...and thats a lot in the drag to the first corner.
Given Ferraris sudden loss of pace I suspect Mercedes can afford to let Bottas run his own race. I hope he grabs the win but it's a long run to that first corner, he'll have cars all over him with that amount of tow.
It's gonna be all about the long run to the first corner. Lets hope for an exciting race, but the Merc upgrades are looking tasty.
So many cars out of position this race, a well placed safety car could throw a wide mix of strategies into the mix.
No matter who you support etc , I think we , the suffering fans deserve a bloody good crazy race . Something like Monaco 1982 or Spa 1998 would do
I voted for Lewis to win, but I'll be 100% honest I'm really struggling to care. This season is over and yet again there hasn't really been much on track action for the WDC. I'm just deflated with it all now and I can't see myself watching any more GP's this season
Rain, not been Vettels friend this year. But then there's still only two cars there capable of beating him so who knows, might be a turning point.
I will stay awake. I hope the race throws up a surprise otherwise Lewis is going to be 50 + points (maybe 47) with just 5 races to go. I do want him to win the WDC, he deserves it, but not by a silly margin. So, I am the idiot that voted Vettel but only because I want to see a scrap, the end of the season is going to be a damp squid otherwise.
