Last weekend of football coming up?

Closed doors from next weekend, or PL season suspended completely?

Every cloud though... LFC have to 'celebrate' winning league behind closed doors maybe? Or no celebrations at all even better....

This season is not going to get finished by the looks of it, especially now players such as the Spanish Footballers Union do not want to play anymore.

 

Trust me them scousers will celebrate either way. Their city might as well be marked “Out of order” for the entire summer.

 

Just imagine this season declared null and void so no title this year for LiVARpool
Then Man City getting crucified and all titles from last year taken away and LiVARpool have a default;t title last year that they cannot celebrate
How crap would that be

 

There is no way authorities will allow 1 million fans dancing all night in Liverpool weekend after next. No chance. No bus parade etc

 

They’d rather die than not celebrate. Trust.

 

Population realignment

 

If the season isn’t completed then the league is declared null and void, has to be, as there can be no relegations / promotions.

It wouldn’t matter if it happened even after they were mathematically home and hosed.

Be a real shame that like.......

 

They should also bulldoze Anfield just to be sure.

 

There's no chance of them cancelling the season but we could see games behind closed doors, though it's probably 2/3 weeks away.

Sky will hate having to present the trophy to them at an empty Anfield. Interested to see how they plan on preventing people congregating in the streets though.



Ultimately it makes no sense to do it unless you're also going to close schools, public transport etc.

 

I think the police will have the water canons out for anybody hoping to celebrate a title win in Merseyside, naturally.

TBF they should not be considering celebrating while so many are suffering around the world. It’s bad taste if anything.

 

I don’t agree. I think there’s every chance they could cancel the season, as it can’t be extended due to the Euro’s, and it’ll only take one high profile footballer, staff member or official to get the virus, and it’ll end there.

 

I worry for the Euros more than the league tbh.

It'd be a huge shift from what they're saying currently though in that they don't think behind closed doors is overly effective. Appreciate it can change quickly though.

Depends on when the pandemic peaks I suppose, but given the games are all over Europe this tournament, unlikely countries are going to want hordes of football fans descending from the 4 corners.

I’ll take it, if combined with the Kopites winning the league in the season that never was.

Going by what's happened with the Olympiakos boss and the repercussions for Arsenal, once players are confirmed as having it, more and more PL games will be postponed.

Personally I don't see what the problem is. Playing the games behind closed doors should significantly minimise the risks but it'll be funny as fck watching Liverpool going full deltmown if they don't win the title, and well worth it
