To be poached by a bigger club?

Has a Sunderland manager ever gone on to manage a bigger club?

 

Not in my lifetime

 

nor me

 

I can't think of any? What about managers whose careers ended at Sunderland. Now there has to be a few of those?

 

Ended totally?

Cant think of anybody other than buxton with his cloth cap a whippet

 

I'll go Niall Quinn, Malcolm Crosby, Howard Wilkinson, Lawry mcENEMY ( although he did scarily become England no 2).

 

Ended as in never managed again. Most go on to working in football in on guise or another.

 

No SAFC manager has ever managed a bigger club after ours, I have checked.
